Bombay Sapphire Distillery

Last week I visited the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery and I have to say, it was such a wonderful day out and incredible value for money at £44 for two people. That included the full tour and a Bombay drink, which felt like a really lovely experience overall. A special mention to Ella, who was so warm and welcoming with her beautiful smiley face, and Luke, who was an absolutely brilliant tour guide. He was funny, engaging, and really knowledgeable, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend visiting on a sunny day, as the setting is beautiful and you can get some stunning photos by the glasshouse and along the river. Just a couple of bits of constructive feedback that I hope are helpful… The café has quite limited food options. It’s mostly toasties, which were nice, but not very filling. As a veggie, there also weren’t many choices. We actually arrived an hour early hoping to have a proper meal beforehand, but there were no menus available on the website to check in advance. We ended up going to a nearby pub afterwards for something more substantial. The food wasn’t bad at all, just a bit light, especially when you’re about to start drinking! The other thing that slightly impacted the experience was that someone in our tour group was translating everything the guide was saying for their family. While completely understandable, it did make it quite difficult to focus on Luke at times. As it clearly attracts an international audience (we also had Chinese and American visitors on our tour), it might be worth considering headsets or audio guides in different languages to improve the experience for everyone. That said, it was still a fantastic day out and I would absolutely visit again.

We booked in for the Bombay Sapphire Distillery for Gin Cocktail Masterclass & Distillery Tour and had a great afternoon out. It was very informative tour around the impressive premises before a very fun cocktail making session. Both elements were very well run and the guys running each part were fantastic.

We were passing and dropped in to have a look. We went into the bar and the shop, we didn’t do the tour. Large car park with a short walk to the entrance. The bar had a gin tasting flight option which was a fun way to try a few tastes out, we liked the sunset gin the most. Clean toilets available for visitors. The shop has a good selection of the products but no miniatures which surprised us.

Arrived early for our tour and decided to have a drink in the bar beforehand. Had to wait over 15 minutes for two lemonades, even though it wasn’t very busy at all. Many of the tables were dirty and hadn’t been cleared. We then did the tour which we felt was average compared to others we have done but the glasshouses were interesting.
