Six Trips A Year

Came for a late weekend lunch with my wife and son — booked same-day around 11am and got a table no problem. We ordered the Chicken Ruby, Pau Bhaji, Vada Pau, Chota Murgh Malai, lamb samosas, garlic naan and a chai. The Chicken Ruby is consistently good — rich, well-spiced, and the naan soaks it up perfectly. The Pau Bhaji was solid and the Vada Pau is a great little snack to start with. Lamb samosas were crispy and well-filled. Total came to about £70 for the three of us with the optional service, which feels about right for Dishoom — not cheap, but the portions are generous and the quality is there. The Battersea branch is in a nice spot at Electric Boulevard. Atmosphere is great — proper Dishoom vibes — but the music was a bit loud when we arrived, and if you're seated on the upper floor during a hot day, be warned: the aircon doesn't hit as hard as downstairs. We were up there during the heatwave and it was noticeably warm throughout. Service was fine but not proactive — had to flag down staff for chai and water refills rather than it happening naturally. Would come back. The Chicken Ruby alone justifies the trip.

I booked a table for Sunday breakfast to celebrate my friend's 40th birthday, and the experience was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Unfortunately, we arrived a little late due to traffic, but the team was incredibly kind and had kept our table for us. When we arrived, I even asked if it would be possible to move to an outdoor table, and they happily accommodated our request. What happened next completely exceeded our expectations. The team had prepared balloons, a birthday card, and a small gift for my friend. It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture that made the celebration even more special. Our waitress, Kateryna, was amazing. She took the time to explain the menu, regularly checked on us, kept our water topped up, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The breakfast itself was fantastic, but the highlight came at the end when Kateryna brought out pancakes with a candle and joined us in singing Happy Birthday. It was such a lovely touch and created a memory. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Thank you to Kateryna and the entire team for making this birthday celebration so special. We felt genuinely cared for and can't wait to come back!

Absolutely brilliant!! We came along today without a reservation and even though it was busy, we were welcomed with kindness and seated immediately. Pria our server was just perfect! Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We didn’t have much time but she gave us fabulous recommendations and ensured that our food came out quickly. Everything we had was superb… chilli cheese toast, house chaat, Ruby chicken and garlic naans. It was nothing short of brilliant. Tasty, flavourful and delicious. I can easily see why the Ruby is so popular as its creamy tomato sauce has a depth of flavour that I could only ever dream of achieving at home!! All in all, what a fabulous experience. We just wish we had more time to have enjoyed our meal today but we will definitely be coming back so look forward to trying more items on the menu. Thank you Pria and thank you Dishoom… what an amazing experience!!

We've been to Dishoom several times, and it never disappoints. The okra is an absolute must-order every time we visit. The pav bhaji was delicious, and the Ruby Chicken was another standout. The only thing to keep in mind is that the food can be a bit spicy, even for some dishes you might not expect. But if you enjoy bold, authentic flavors, it's definitely worth it. We'll definitely be back again!
