What diners say
Food was amazing and the service impeccable at TOZI Battersea. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. A big thank you to Marco and Nandini for their warm, attentive service—they really made our evening special. And the chefs of course for preparing such a lovely food. Highly recommend!

For starters, we had the aubergine with mozzarella and tomato sauce and the beef tartare - both were excellent. We also tried the focaccia, which was very oily and not something we would order again. For mains, we chose the ravioli with truffle and the lobster spaghetti. Both dishes were enjoyable but fairly average overall. The pleasant atmosphere and the friendly, kind service helped make up for some of the disappointment with the food. I would also say that the main courses are somewhat overpriced for what they offer.

Non-hotel guest walk in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were nicely greeted and accommodated at a lovely window side table - the decor and vibe were good, it felt calm and unrushed. Unfortunately that’s where the positives end, really. Waited about 15/20 minutes before we managed to flag anyone down to actually take our order, despite most tables visualised already seeming to have been served and quite a number of staff on the restaurant floor. As soon as we mentioned to a passing staff member that we hadn’t been served, someone came directly over and served us. It felt a little like, hotel guests were served more attentively. Drinks were very expensive for what are very basic items. A small apple juice and a latte, each were £5. They tasted ok, but not £5 worthy. Food was pretty poor. The shakshuka was overcooked to the point that the egg yolks turned black - only discovered midway through eating once cut into. The salt beef was just fine, not very flavoursome and incredibly dry as no sauce (or similar) included and again, overcooked egg so no runny yolk. The worst part is that no one came back to check in on us / ask if everything was ok with our food. Eventually, again ages after trying to catch someone’s attention, we managed to raise that we weren’t very happy with the shakshuka. The staff member apologised, but didn’t check whether it was just one dish that was a problem, or both. Another staff member came over and also apologised for the food. We also raised that the service received was very poor standard. They removed the service charge from the bill, took 50% off the price of the shakshuka and asked if there was any other complimentary item that we wanted (we didn’t). Whilst these gestures were appreciated and handled nicely once we had the opportunity to raise them, it unfortunately didn’t make up for the overall experience and I don’t think either myself of my friend would return. This, plus the nice greeting when we arrived were the reason for 2 stars for service.

I’m staying at the Art O’tel and have been dining both in room and at the restaurant and the food has been spectacular every single day. But above that, the service is stellar, in particular, the sever we have had for the last two days, Pedro. He was a dream, so kind and when my son was starting to get sassy, Pedro scooped him up and walked us to our table and played with him and made sure we all had what we needed throught the meal. He even remembered our drink orders without having to ask. Hands down the best server and hotel restaurant experience I’ve ever had!!
