About Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast
The Fitzwilliam sits directly across from the Grand Opera House on Great Victoria Street, a contemporary, independently owned hotel built around clean-lined rooms and a genuinely well-regarded rooftop bar with views over the surrounding rooftops towards the hills. Its restaurant runs a more ambitious menu than most hotel dining rooms in the city, and has built its own following among Belfast diners rather than relying solely on hotel guests.
Being on the Golden Mile places it within a few minutes of Victoria Square, the Europa Bus Centre and the Cathedral Quarter, making it one of the more practical central options for visitors without a car.
Rooms are on the compact side typical of a city-centre conversion, but consistently well finished, and the hotel has a reputation for attentive, personal service that larger chain properties in the same area struggle to match.
What guests say
Although we didn’t stay at the hotel, we stopped in for cocktails and a selection of sharing plates, and it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, the service was friendly and attentive, and there was an excellent selection of cocktails and drinks. The sharing plates were delicious and perfect for enjoying with friends. A great place to relax and unwind, whether you’re staying at the hotel or just calling in for food and drinks. We’d definitely return on our next visit. Highly recommended!

Never having stayed in the hotel, and im a potter so i always throught this is a very fancy hotel and iv got to have deep pockets to enjoy a dinner here. But I was very surprised !we were suited, heels and booted. We brought our two young boys and my husband to celebrate Father's Day. To be honest, it wasn't our first choice, but it ended up being a beautiful wonderful dinner with an excellent menu for our two young boys. Every bite was delicious, and we shared a chateaubriand steak for two. At 1st it didn't look like much meat, it was well-cooked to our liking, and our sides were plentiful but myself and husband said it was the right amount, we couldn't finish it all in the end, and I always leave room for dessert, which didn't disappoint. Though it was quiet, we were starving, and service was very prompt. The menu pricing was reasonable for a 5-star hotel; I would have thought our dinner might have cost more, so I give the price 10/10.

Went to see a show in the grand opera house and we were literally back in our room not having come down from the high of a great performance, its that close right beside. All staff are friendly, prompt and professional, throughout the course of the day. The food was incredible, had a small lunch at 2pm which kept us content until sitting down to dinner at 7pm, and as the lovely little touches with quotes in the menu, we did not just eat our food, we dined.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The team went above and beyond, arranging an early check-in and surprising us with a complimentary room upgrade, which made our stay even more special. The room was beautifully presented, spacious, and extremely comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. What truly stood out was the warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality of the staff throughout our visit. The Fitzwilliam is perfectly located for exploring Belfast, and the level of customer service we experienced was second to none. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Belfast.
