I've been attending Ceramic Spirit classes for nealy 3 years now and its the best decision I ever made! Julie is so knowledgeable and teaches you so many many different techniques whilst giving your imagination full rein. She has all the tools you need and a great variety of clays and glazes to try out. Julie creates a wonderful atmosphere and really gives you the confidence to try different things. I really recommend anyone who wants to try pottery to go to Ceramic Spirit and give it a go.

We had an amazing experience and would thoroughly recommend! We went as a group of six and all took turns using the wheel. Julie was a brilliant teacher, very knowledgeable and patient. Everyone also hand made their own creations from spoon rests, plates, pots and coasters. We loved it. Thank you for a brilliant birthday activity and we look forward to collecting our creations.

Julie teaches from her lovely garden studio and has a great way of teaching all the techniques needed to make and glaze your very own items. The groups I’ve been a part of have all been really friendly and along with the pottery there’s always tea, biscuits, chat and plenty of laughs. If you’ve ever wanted to give pottery a go, this is a great place to start.

Julie is a relaxed and knowledgeable tutor. My wife and I started attending a little while ago, and our weekly visit immediately became the highlight of our week. I am far from artistic, but the atmosphere is always positive and encouraging, which takes away any feelings of self-consciousness about one’s ability. Julie encourages and assists with any project you wish to pursue; she is patient in explaining—and in my case, re-explaining—the many aspects of the ceramic craft needed to keep one feeling good about one’s work. Julie has fostered a wonderfully warm and friendly environment which means, for me at least, each session is just as much about social company as it is about crafting items of beauty. I do have one criticism, but it would be unfair to take a star off for it: Julie has built the studio over a temporal vortex, as time flies by when you are there.
