What guests say
We stayed on 27–28 June 2026 and had to leave the same night. The bedding was filthy and clearly hadn't been changed between guests, and the room itself didn't appear to have been cleaned at all before our arrival. To make matters worse, the bedding was feathered, which my partner is allergic to — a genuine health risk we hadn't been warned about. Given the state of the room, we had no choice but to abandon the booking and pay for a hotel elsewhere that same evening. Completely unacceptable for a paid booking, and we've reported the issue to Booking.com directly. Avoid unless you're confident the room has been properly cleaned beforehand.

We had a twin room, the carpet hadn't been hoovered prior there was a used plaster and lots of crumbs, dust and bits on floor, but apart from that was warm, quiet considering we overlooked main road, managed to get parking space ok and easy instructions to get in. We had breakfast in the cafe down the road which was good. I would probably stay again because close to the train station

Very victorian. It's not the best place I have stayed. Sweat stained pillow cases. The toilet had not been flushed. Carpets could do with a clean. The fridge was noisy and disturbed my sleep. The room was large. Bed I slept in swayed when I tried to turn over. Definitely needs replacing. The bathroom was beautiful. There was shower gel and hand soap included. Not individual. Big shower gel, big hand washes. ( mine was 3rd way used). The towels spoilt it, and they did not smell clean. I'm glad I bought my own. It was quiet. I did not try the breakfast. When I booked it. I believed it was included in the price. They said it would cost £8. Getting in you was emailed key codes. Going in a gate door initially, walking through a dark alley way that did not light up until I had made 3 to 4 steps.next door was a key code to the stairs. They looked like they could do with a good vacuum and clean. Beige carpets for a b&b, not a good idea. Top of stairs up to my bedroom, which was another key code. Cracked walls, 2 steps down to the room. It smelled fusty and was not surprised when I saw the blue duck pillow cases in sweat stains. Need to be thrown out. Peeling wallpaper and painting not finished. It's a shame because it could be truly beautiful.
