The area around Hagley Road has pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby, along with entertainment options and a golf course for those wanting to fill time outside meetings or sightseeing. What guests say
DONT STAY HERE! Unless you want bed bugs. Our room was infested with bed bugs and the staff are not willing to help. They have agreed to issue a refund, but only on the condition that I remove my review. Despite the considerable distress, inconvenience and financial loss caused, they have refused to offer any additional compensation. The hotel did offer to move me to another room. However, after discovering bedbugs in the property, I did not feel it was reasonable or safe to remain there for another night. Moving rooms would not have provided adequate reassurance that the issue was isolated, particularly as bedbugs can spread through luggage, furnishings and adjoining areas. As a direct result of the incident, I had to dispose of all the clothes I had with me, purchase specialist bedbug pest-control products and arrange alternative accommodation for the night. As this happened late in the evening, availability was extremely limited, leaving me with no realistic choice but to book one of the more expensive hotels that remained. Last-minute hotel bookings are understandably costly, and this was an unavoidable expense caused entirely by the incident. None of these additional losses, expenses or the significant inconvenience caused have been properly addressed.

Just stayed 1 night was very easy to get to with good parking. The room was lovely and clean with all the facilities. It was very comfortable and location quiet. The staff were very friendly from the front desk to housekeeping maintenance etc. Will definitely use again. Also very competitive price for the quality of the hotel in central Birmingham.

The hotel was very dirty. The staff also were not helpful at all and very unprofessional! I could hear them gossiping! Unacceptable!

When we first walked into this hotel, the reception area looked quite nice. That's the only way I can justify giving it one star. Besides that, this is a very bad hotel. We waited a few minutes for our key card, then walked into our room to find used chewing gum on one of the pillows. It had clearly been there for a while. The previous guests in this room had obviously put up decorations as there were still bits of confetti stuck to the walls. The bed was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. It was very badly broken in and we could feel the wooden frame beneath the mattress. The bath did not look nice. It was all chipped and there was a strong smell of chemicals in the bathroom. The mugs that are given are tiny. You could have your cup of tea in two mouthfuls from one of their mugs. There were stains on the walls and there were patches on the ceiling that had clearly just been painted over to hide damp. It's safe to say that we did not stay the night at The Collection Hotel. If you're considering staying here, please keep this review in mind. There's a lovely Premier Inn not too far.
