About Dovecote Hotel
Chester Road runs busily through this part of Birmingham, but the Dovecote Hotel keeps a garden and outdoor seating area that offer a quieter spot to sit once you're off it. It's a practical base for the city's business districts and attractions, with chargeable on-site parking for anyone driving in.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided, and accessible rooms are available for those who need them. There's a restaurant and bar on site along with breakfast service, plus free WiFi and a laundry service for longer stays. Guest feedback has been mixed rather than uniformly glowing, so it suits travellers after a straightforward, no-frills stay rather than a luxury experience.
Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area has restaurants, pubs and entertainment within reach, along with a golf course nearby for those wanting to fill a spare afternoon. Pets are welcome, making it a reasonable option for guests travelling with animals as well as for business trips into Birmingham.
What guests say
We stayed in the Dovecote building which was clean, comfortable and pleasantly furnished, everything we needed for a two night stay. A stroll across the courtyard took us to the main building which is the Castle Bromwich Hall hotel. Here is the main reception with an excellent restaurant and bar. Breakfast is fantastic, lots of choice and reasonably priced. This building also has accommodation which belongs to the Castle Bromwich hotel. The staff are welcoming, polite and attentive. Would definitely recommend staying at the Dovecote with the main hotel facilities close by. Also the surroundings have beautiful gardens and free ample parking. Looking at posts from last year I would say the Dovecote has been refurbished and is better managed.

I’m a bit confused about the site of this hotel I’ve just stayed at the Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel just round the corner from OYO Dovecote. I was looking at the Dovecote web site and saw that pictures posted on there are in fact taken at the Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel bar & reception area!! 😳. Apparently they get recommended from Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel that they can avail themselves of the bar facilities.

Two different people booked into this hotel prior to my daughters 40th birthday party on the 20th August 2021. The hotel had a large wedding party and decided to cancel the one booking, but that guest had prior warning. But unbelievably, a party of three travelling from Glasgow were given no warning that their booking had been cancelled and then turned up at the hotel to be told they had no record of their booking! When the guest contacted booking.com to complain, booking.com checked with the hotel and then confirmed the hotel had told them the guests had not turned up. Astonishing! My advice to you is do not use this hotel. Your choice, but you have been warned!
