About Forest of Arden Hotel And Country Club
With 214 rooms spread across just two floors, Forest of Arden Hotel And Country Club has the feel of a sprawling country retreat rather than a city hotel, despite its Birmingham address on Maxstoke Lane. The grounds are a particular draw, with golf courses on site and surroundings that guests consistently describe as calm and green, a world away from the usual conference-hotel setting.
Rooms come as standard doubles, family rooms and accessible options, all en-suite, with room service, drinks in room and laundry service available for longer stays. The spa is a highlight, with an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gym, and the restaurant's breakfast buffet is regularly singled out for praise, alongside staff who are noted as friendly and attentive. That said, some parts of the hotel are reported as showing their age, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly rather than assuming a fully polished finish throughout.
Beyond golf and the spa, there's fishing nearby, plus pubs and restaurants within reach for evenings off-site. The hotel also has meeting rooms and business facilities, making it a practical base for work as well as leisure, with free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point for those driving in.

This is a review purely for the spa. Five of us booked a spa day through Wowcher.com, and it cost us £55 per person which included access to the spa from 10am- 7pm, and one 60-minute treatment which we could pick out of a full body massage, facial, or a manicure/ pedicure. Our group collectively chose the facials and massages. Everyone had a great experience. Personally, this was one of the best facials I had in the UK, and the Templespa products used smelled incredible. The ladies who gave us the treatments were caring and took our concerns in mind when providing the treatments. The facilities are clean and nice. Towels and bathrobes are provided. It was a Saturday when we went, but relatively quiet. There is a sauna, swimming pool, and steam room available. The pool had a couple of children in it but not too loud as some other reviews suggest. When we first went in, it was just us and one other family, and it got busy later in the afternoon. All other staff was professional and helpful too. We left feeling very content and relaxed. We would definitely visit again!

Just returned from an overnight stay with 26 ladies from my golf club. Despite my utter rubbish golf the break was absolutely excellent. On arrival there was plenty of parking. My room mate had already checked in so I can't comment on that but our room was absolutely spotless with excellent tea/coffee facilities & fully functioning bathroom. We had a very comprehensive buffet with lovely desserts in a separate dining area for our somewhat raucous evening meal & presentation. Breakfast was first class - traditional, continental & plenty of fruit left whole because they KNOW we golfers want to take a fresh banana or apple out on the course. There was complimentary water in our rooms but a chilled water station in the bar with a choice of plain or cucumber water - absolutely welcome on a boiling hot day. Without exception the staff were polite, friendly, welcoming & no request was too much trouble, from directions, take away sandwiches to ice buckets. Both courses were pretty flat, playable with very good greens & tee boxes. Checkout was completely painless- no queues or questions. A really first class experience. Thank you Forest of Arden H & CC

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Forest of Arden Hotel. Julieta, Tania, and Rabeya were all exceptional—friendly, professional, and always happy to help. They made us feel genuinely welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Every other member of staff I met was just as lovely, courteous, and attentive. The level of customer service throughout the hotel was outstanding and honestly better than I've experienced at many other hotels. Nothing was too much trouble, and everyone worked hard to ensure guests had a great experience. I highly recommend the Forest of Arden Hotel and will definitely be returning. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We came to stay for a long weekend and we could not fault it all , the staff were all lovely and couldn’t do enough for you and the hotel was in a lovely spot. The food was great , well presented and tasty. A couple of points to make , one is the bar prices are a little steep and we felt the rooms could have had more info in them about the hotel itself and the spa
