About Premier Inn Birmingham Great Barr M6 J7

Premier Inn Birmingham Great Barr M6 J7 is a compact, two-storey budget hotel with 33 rooms, built for practicality rather than grandeur. Its low-rise layout keeps things simple: en-suite and family rooms, an on-site restaurant and bar, and free WiFi throughout, all designed for straightforward overnight stays rather than long leisurely breaks.

Rooms come with drinks available and accessible options for those who need them, while the restaurant covers breakfast and evening meals without guests needing to head out. Free on-site parking is available both at the front and rear of the building, with vehicles registered at reception on arrival, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those who need it. Luggage storage is also on hand, useful for early arrivals or late departures.

The location suits both business and leisure stopovers, sitting close to Sandwell Valley Park for a walk outdoors and within reach of Birmingham city centre for a day out. A golf course, pubs and other restaurants are also nearby, giving guests a few options beyond the hotel itself.

The hotel is ideally sited near the M5 / M6 interchange with ample parking to the rear of the premises. Check in was made very easy by the friendly staff and all rooms are within a few seconds walk to the resturant. The rooms are quiet, good value for the price, very clean and the beds are excetionally comfortable. If, like me, a cooked breakfast is your preference, you wont be disappointed. Conveniently, next door to the hotel is a Harvester inn for lunch or evning meals. And last but by no means least. Lisa was very professional in her role as Duty Manager and made us all feel very welcome during our stay. This was our second visit to this hotel and we intend to return next year as part of our annual trip to the midlands.

A stay at Premier Inn Great Barr becomes genuinely memorable when someone like **Lisa** is the first person you meet. From the moment we arrived, she set the tone with her warm, welcoming, and naturally funny manner — the kind of reception that instantly makes you feel looked after. Our room was spotless and ready, but we realised my friend had accidentally booked the wrong type. When we mentioned this to Lisa, she didn’t just help — she *took ownership*. She listened, reassured us, and within minutes had found a perfect alternative room. Her calm efficiency turned what could have been a stressful hiccup into a smooth, positive experience. It’s rare to see someone combine professionalism with such genuine kindness. Breakfast the next morning was lovely too — a big thank you to the chef for a tasty start to the day, and once again to Lisa for being the standout star of our stay. Staff like her elevate a hotel from good to exceptional. If you’re thinking of staying at Premier Inn Great Barr, I’d wholeheartedly recommend it — and if you’re lucky enough to meet Lisa, you’ll be off to the best possible start.

I have just returned from a 5 night stay at Premier inn Great Barr and I can not recommend them enough. The hotel itself is amazing but the staff go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and are so friendly. In particular Lisa, Craig and the chef with the blonde hair and glasses (sorry I forgot her name) were so lovely and they are a credit to Premier inn. Myself, my partner and our daughter had to stay there due to a leak at our property and we were greeted and treated with such warmth.

The staff at this hotel are brilliant nothing appears too much. You do not even have to ask for assistance they offer to help and check you are ok. Lisa is a star and definitely deserves a pay rise or bonus. The breakfast is a 10, it sets you up for the whole day.
