About Best Western Carlton Hotel

The North Promenade runs along Blackpool's seafront with the beach and water directly opposite, and Best Western Carlton Hotel occupies a stretch of it close to the Tower, North Pier and the Golden Mile. It's a straightforward base for a seaside break, with chargeable on-site parking for anyone driving up.

There are 60 rooms across four floors, many with sea views and all en suite, plus family and accessible options and a lift to reach them. Breakfast is a genuine highlight, with a good spread on offer each morning, and there's a restaurant, bar, snack bar and outdoor seating for the rest of the day, along with room service, packed lunches and drinks in the room if you'd rather stay put. Some rooms show their age, and a damp smell has been noted in a few, so it's worth bearing in mind rather than expecting a fresh refurbishment throughout.

Staff are consistently helpful, which counts for a lot on a busy promenade like this one. Outside, there's plenty within walking distance including pubs, restaurants and entertainment, with golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports also nearby for those wanting to venture further afield. Pets are welcome, and laundry and business facilities are on hand for longer or working stays.

Booked at this hotel for a friend and I. We booked an accessible room as I am a full-time wheelchair user. The room was that small I couldn't even get my wheelchair up to the bed to be able to get into bed. Even if I could have done I couldn't get on the bed as it was to high. So I ended up spending two nights sleeping in my wheelchair. This room cost £270 it was an absolute rip off. I took my dog with us with it being a dog friendly hotel only to be told when we got there that my dog couldn't be left unattended in the room. I spoke to the manager of the hotel only to be told it's hotel policy. So I have told them they need to state that in there booking for future guests because had I of known that I wouldn't have booked the hotel in the first place. I definitely won't be booking again.

Great location in a quiet area away from all the amusements and main promenade. We were looked after really well by two female staff members, one who checked us in and other who checked us out, and we received a free room upgrade as we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. Great location to catch the tram as Pleasant Street tram stop is right outside the hotel. Rooms were very comfortable and good choice of food for breakfast.

We stayed for 2 nights in accessible room. Ground floor. Perfect. Toiletries and sparkling water a nice touch. Towels changed and bin emptied during our stay. Can't say anything about the staff but excellent all round great team. Our key card didn't work so chirpy chap on reception gave us a new one. Also accidently pulled the emergency cord in the bathroom whilst changing. Not joking staff were at the room in seconds. Which if it was an emergency was truly comendable . Had breakfast and dinner in restaurant both fantastic. Couldn't do enough if you wanted something else. Ie plain yoghurt. Different eggs other than scrambled even cooked veggie sausages on request. The whole team are an asset to the company especially the staff on overnight. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return. Oh it's added bonus that the beach and tram are just across from the front door. Thank you 😊 for everything

Hotel was ok. Bit dated and tired...worn carpets, windows wouldn't open properly and then the obligatory parking charges but once paid then couldn't move car as couldn't guarantee space. Staff were friendly but huge shout out to Nicola in dining hall. Made everyone feel welcome and took time to say hi and ask if everything was ok and help out with requests e.g. top up food, bread and advice on toasters. Big asset to the hotel Nicola.
