About Holmlea

Sea views from the windows set Holmlea apart from many of the other guest houses tucked into Blackpool's side streets. Found on Alexandra Road, it puts guests within easy reach of the seafront and the town's usual run of entertainment, without the premium price tag of a beachfront hotel.

Rooms are en-suite and include family options, with drinks available in room and free WiFi throughout. A 24 hour reception means arrivals aren't tied to fixed hours, and luggage storage is handy for anyone exploring before check-in or after check-out.

Outside the front door there's plenty to fill a stay: pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, along with golf, fishing, cycling and walking routes, and watersports for the more active. It's a straightforward base for a Blackpool break, well placed for getting out and about rather than a destination in itself.

Honestly was expecting just a standard room, tiny bathroom with just a shower and toilet etc but oh my gosh it was beautiful. Four post bed, a huge bathroom with a bath and separate shower. A 15 minute walk to PB park, the waterpark, McDonald’s around the corner, can’t complain at all😅 The owner was so lovely and communication was perfect. Hardly any noise the whole stay, bed was comfortable, a FRIDGE TOO! I know if we come to Blackpool again we’ll be booking here ☺️ thank you Alisha so so much for making my birthday stay an easy comfortable one.

would strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. On arrival, the room did not appear to have been cleaned properly. There were stains on the bedding, the sides of the beds looked as though they had not been vacuumed for a long time, and the fridge contained mould. The kettle was heavily covered in limescale, suggesting it had not been descaled for a considerable period. The hotel also had a strong smell of curry throughout the building, which was unpleasant. Staff were rarely visible, and when we needed an iron and ironing board, we had to search for someone to assist us. When we finally received them, both were dirty and not in a suitable condition to use. The lift was out of order during our stay, making access to the rooms difficult due to the number of stairs. In addition, the car park was frequently blocked, making it very difficult to get our vehicle in and out. Overall, the standard of cleanliness, maintenance and customer service fell well below what we expected. Sadly, I would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.

on arrival parking was okay £10p/n(but by Sunday car was blocked so was difficult to leave) host was polite, when we got into the room ot was very cold(13c) we asked for the heating to be put on, he fiddled with an electric panel heater and said central heating would come on in 20mins. we then noticed there wasn't enough cups or glasses and had to go down and request more. on returning the hotel at 8.30pm the room was still cold and no heating on. so had to contact host via text to request heating be turned on, room eventually warmed by 10pm. we then discovered there was no heating in the bathroom! and the window was stuck open and couldn't be closed. Day2 .. the room wasn't serviced in any way , so had to wash glasses and cups in the sink, no fresh towels. day 3 ..on leaving no one present at hotel , eventually left after maneuvering car out from being blocked in.... we won't be returning NB no working lift

I stayed at The Homlea between 24–26 May and had a terrible experience. The room was infested with bed bugs, my girlfriend and I were bitten during the night, and we were forced to leave after the first night. We felt unsafe staying there, so we had to find a new hotel at our own expense, seal all our clothes in bags, and purchase new clothes to avoid bringing the infestation home. This caused significant stress and unexpected costs. We found several bugs and even took photos as proof. When we informed the staff, they denied the issue and offered no help at all. On top of that, the bedsheets were visibly dirty and seemed unwashed, which made the stay even more uncomfortable and concerning from a hygiene perspective. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Hygiene and customer care were completely lacking.
