About The Doric Hotel

Blackpool's big attractions are within easy reach of The Doric Hotel on Queens Promenade, with the Tower and Pleasure Beach both close enough to visit without needing the car, and the seafront itself right on the doorstep for walking or cycling. Golf, fishing and watersports are also nearby for those wanting to get out and about, while pubs, restaurants and entertainment options sit just beyond the hotel's own facilities. The hotel has 103 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and sea views in many cases, along with family rooms for those travelling with children. That said, some of the rooms could do with better upkeep, so it's worth bearing in mind if you're particular about finish and furnishings. Guests get a restaurant and bar on-site, a snack bar and outdoor seating, plus room service and drinks brought straight to the room. Breakfast and the wider food offering are a strong point, and there's a good range of entertainment laid on for both adults and children, backed up by a games room, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a spa and sauna. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the all-inclusive packages are considered good value. Free on-site parking is provided, and the hotel also offers meeting rooms and wedding facilities for events.

We stayed at the Doric Hotel for one night and overall had a good stay. The hotel is easy to find, right beside the sea. We didn’t get a sea‑view room, just a back room on the second floor with a not‑so‑pretty view of the walls, but the room itself was a good size and looked refreshed — definitely more updated than the corridors and stairs. There was good size bathroom with fresh towels and tea and coffee corner. There was no fridge in the room . The hotel has two pools, indoor and outdoor. We used the outdoor one, which also had a bar (really cool bar with drinks, ice creams, food) and a sauna. I do wish the place was a bit cleaner, but we still enjoyed the day, and the weather was super hot, which made everything better. Because it was such a nice day, we could stay in the pool until 18:00. There’s also evening entertainment for both adults and kids. The reception area and dining room look like they’ve had some renovation work done too. We added breakfast for £20 for the three of us. It was basic — porridge, cereal, and a full English(one egg, one sausage, 2 bacon slices, one black pudding slice and bit of beans ) not the greatest, but it was fine, and we got tea, coffee, and toast included. They also take £50 holding deposit in case of any damage. So yes, overall we had a good stay.Fr the price we paid it was good hotel.

I'm a father of two... GET ME OUT OF HERE! If you have ever wanted to pay good money to test your basic survival instincts in a tropical micro-climate, look no further than The Doric Hotel. We expected a classic British seaside holiday, but instead, management dropped us straight into an extreme episode of "I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" — and yes, we actually ground it out until departure day without eating a single kangaroo eyeball. The comedy began with the management's unique interpretation of sleeping arrangements. The hotel’s translation of a three-person FAMILY room for THREE individual people is simply two beds: one double and one single. Unless they expected one of us to sleep suspended from the ceiling like a bat, this brilliant configuration physically forced an adult father to share a double bed with his 7-year-old daughter. Ruining a child's birthday trip takes a special level of corporate carelessness. When we pointed out that this forced spooning setup was an absolute joke, the hotel's management standards collapsed into pure farce. The Operations Director openly offered to shove a temporary camp bed into the tiny room footprint—explicitly admitting in writing it would make the room "tight." Translation: they wanted to block the emergency fire escape routes. When I questioned their generous invitation to spend my daughter's birthday trapped in a literal fire hazard, management threw a massive corporate tantrum. They withdrew the extra bed entirely and cut off communication, leaving us to simmer in an unventilated, overheated room during a severe UK heatwave. They think their frontline stonewalling will pressure people into walking away, but they are about to find out that calling my bluff is a very expensive mistake once the independent dispute panels and bank chargebacks get involved.

We recently spent 2 nights here as a family of four (2 children), the staff were all lovely, rooms were nice and clean. Pool was lovely and warm and well maintained. Food was delicious and plenty of choice. Would highly recommend and we will be returning.

Stayed one night to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday. 5 adults, 3 children. Three rooms. Positives. The staff were wonderful. The breakfast was outstanding. The grandkids loved the pool and the children's entertainment and they enjoyed them immensely whilst us girls went to Funny Girls. The negatives were the beds. They were horrendous. Also the lift only held two people at a time. Wholly inadequate for a hotel with this many rooms. Having said all that, if they got the beds sorted would definitely stay again and would recommend.
