About The Lawton Hotel
A cooked breakfast with hot options, cereals and a range of drinks sets the tone at The Lawton Hotel, a 63-room hotel on Charnley Road in the heart of Blackpool. It's a practical base for exploring the town, with Blackpool Tower and Pleasure Beach both within easy walking distance.
Rooms are straightforward and comfortable, though some have been noted as needing a bit of upkeep, so it's worth bearing that in mind when booking. The hotel makes up for it with a restaurant and bar on site, free WiFi, luggage storage and business services, plus free on-site parking, which is a genuine convenience in a town centre location.
Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the central position means the seafront, shops and Blackpool's main attractions are all close at hand. For a straightforward stay with breakfast sorted and the car taken care of, The Lawton Hotel covers the basics well.
What guests say
Central location. Staff amazing. Breakfast service also amazing with a good choice of cereals or a cooked breakfast. Rooms are adequate but dated. Furniture is a mixture. Bed was so uncomfortable, mattress far too soft (yes, we appreciate this is personal choice). The decor in the hotel is very tired and well worn. Hotel caters for all groups, so tiredness was expected. Booking in was smooth. Cleaning team work hard. Bedding and towels spotless. Bathroom was a good a size but shower cubicle had mould in places. Overall, it's a place to get your head down for a couple of nights in Blackpool but not somewhere to stay for a weeks holiday. Staff are fantastic.

We booked The Lawton through booking.com and felt we got a reasonable price for 4 nights 5 days from Saturday to Wednesday, parking was an extra £30 for the stay and hotel price was £244 which included cooked breakfast every morning. The room had one double bed and a single, en suite, equipped with a shower and fresh bedding and towels. The carpet really needs replacing and had left over gum stuck to the floor which we covered with paper to avoid trappling on it. Toilet shower area was just about right size, but a bigger framed person may struggle. Two toilet rolls were in place be it 2 ply tissue. Bed had seen better days, the double one, bit lumpy but you pay for what u get. Coffee/tea kettle available and sugars and milk jiggers. Clear instructions on hotel policy was also available pointing out that the rooms would be cleared/clean if requested, other than that it would be cleaned on your departure. Any shortages of milk jiggers, sugar, coffee, tea, toilet paper, clean towels, fresh bedding can be requested at reception and they would be happy to accommodate. Remember this is 3 star! TV was small 32" screen and showed all freeview channels. Two lights above the bed, only one worked, room was at the back of the hotel 230, so not facing the main street which was a plus as no noise apart from seagulls!! The decor was a little dated, but we do understand that the rooms were undergoing redecoration. Access to the room was via a key card that also let you into the hotel after 11pm when the doors are locked. Breakfast in the morning was between 8am and 9.30am. You can have unlimited coffee/tea, toast and juices along with various cereals. Coffee/tea and toast were brought to your table, the rest you have to get. Full English Breakfast was available and all you had to do was go to the buffet counter and ask and they would plate it up for you. Louca the nice man on breakfast always served me and was friendly throughout our stay. I explained that my wife couldn't come down for breakfast as she had to have meds first and wait at least an hour to eat. Louca offered to do toast or a breakfast sandwich for me to take up for her which was a much welcomed tounch. Bar prices in the reception area are reasonable priced and throughout our stay Martin always served us. A very nice chatty man always a smile and a tail to tell, what a character! He really went out of his way to help us as and when needed. Another star member if your team! Being mostly on his own and having to deal with some rowdy customers he always stayed calm and in control. Martin suffers from a server allergic reaction to fish and even the smell if fish can cause him to have difficulty with breathing! This had to be explained several times to customers, where most went outside to eat and some to their rooms, however one customer purposely smeared a hand full of fish on the glass door after being politely ask to eat outside. Martin stayed in control and stayed calm and just cleared up the mesh with help from Kev. Wow a defo trooper! Would we come back? Yes. I'm sure when we do the decor would be better. Your staff are a credit to you, look after them.

Excellent location (literally less than 5 minutes to coral island), very clean hotel with extremely friendly staff (very hard working as well), breakfast is a great start to the day and the bar area is a decent size. Parking is available right next door, the rooms are a good size and clean, i think the best way to describe the hotel is basically everything you need for a pleasant stay in Blackpool. Will definitely be booking again make no mistake about that

Got a very decent price for the night as came to see a band at the Opera House nearby. The room was fine and the mattress very comfortable. Yes the room was a bit tired but the friendly nature of the staff and the great breakfast made up for any shortcomings.
