About The Merlin Hotel
Two minutes from the seafront action, The Merlin Hotel occupies a handy spot on Charnley Road in Blackpool, within easy reach of Blackpool Tower and Pleasure Beach. It's a straightforward base for a seaside break, with parking on site for those arriving by car and 24 hour reception to greet guests whenever they check in.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room, and family rooms for those travelling with children. Breakfast is served each morning, and free WiFi is available throughout. It's worth noting that some rooms show their age and basic amenities can be limited, so this suits guests after an affordable, no-frills stay rather than a polished finish.
Staff are consistently described as friendly and accommodating, which goes some way to making up for the tired décor. The location itself is a strong point, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment all close by, plus golf, fishing, cycling and walking routes nearby, and watersports on offer for the more active.

Honestly don't know why this hotel gets bad reviews!?? Stayed for one night 31/10/25 and couldn't fault the place! Clean room, clean beds, TV that worked, WiFi that worked, towels, kettle, tea & coffee all left in room, heating was on and room was lovely and warm. Met hosts at check-in and they came across as really nice, took an interest in where we'd travelled from, invited the kids to a Halloween party. For the price we paid I honestly can't fault anything and we will be staying again in the future. Thanks for a pleasant stay everyone.

My partner recently stayed here, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. I made the booking on his behalf, and he reported several serious issues during his stay. He was unable to get hold of the manager when needed, which made it difficult to address concerns. One evening he returned quite late and found a strong smell of cannabis coming from his room, which was very unpleasant and concerning. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations, and we felt let down by both the environment and the lack of management support. I would not recommend this place, and I believe improvements in management are needed.

WOW!!...And not in a good way, please avoid, this place is 1 step up from homeless hostel infact ive no words to describe this hovel. Booked for the week and stayed 12 hrs (longest 12 hrs of my life) so inadequate of even basic facilities I don't even know how it is able to advertise on a reputable booking site ...lucky that we could afford another hotel. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS PLACE!!

Me and gran once stayed here, while we had a weekend break at Blackpool. Thankfully, we were only at Blackpool for two day's. There's nothing wrong with Blackpool itself, just with this hotel. The other negative reviews are making me laugh to myself, because I know they're spot on, with everything they mention. I've seen nicer curtains on Vinted, and bedding. I knew never to return to this one.
