About The Stone House Hotel

The Stone House Hotel keeps things simple when it comes to food and drink, offering drinks available in the room and easy access to nearby pubs, bars and restaurants for anyone not fancying room service. It's a straightforward base rather than a dining destination, with the surrounding streets of Blackpool picking up the slack.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and are set up with families in mind, including family rooms for those travelling with children. Beds are comfortable with clean linen, though some rooms show their age and can be poorly maintained, so it's worth keeping expectations realistic. A 24 hour reception and free WiFi are on hand throughout your stay, and parking is available for guests arriving by car.

The location is a real strength, with the beach within easy reach along with golf, fishing, watersports, cycling and walking routes nearby for those wanting to fill their days outdoors. Entertainment options are close by too, making it a convenient spot for a no-frills Blackpool break.

A Night to Forget: The Stonehouse Hotel, Blackpool Overall Impression This room is a chaotic mix of bizarre design choices, severe safety hazards, and poor hygiene. Based on the walkthrough, it falls drastically below acceptable hospitality and safety standards. Room Condition and Comfort The Bed: The sleeping arrangements are incredibly uncomfortable, making it impossible to relax or get a proper night's rest. Cleanliness: The carpets feature highly suspicious, dark, and unidentifiable stains that are immediately off-putting upon entry. Bizarre Decor: The room features a strange, claustrophobic ceiling and paneling structure that is compared to being inside a coffin. Amenities Wardrobe Air Conditioning: In a completely nonsensical installation choice, the room's air conditioning unit is mounted entirely inside the closed wardrobe. Absurd Rules: The hotel apparently enforces a strict "no outside food" policy in the rooms, which feels incredibly hypocritical and out of touch given the dismal, unhygienic state of the accommodations. The Bathroom Missing Accommodations: Despite the expectation of having a bathtub, the room only features a stand-up shower. Poor Hygiene: The shower tray is visibly grimy and described as disgusting, making the prospect of washing in it highly unappealing. Overwhelming Aesthetic: The bathroom is painted a jarring, floor-to-ceiling shade of bright yellow. Major Safety Hazards Detached Sockets: The room presents a massive electrical and fire safety risk. Multiple double electrical sockets are completely detached from the skirting boards. Loose Wiring: The unattached plastic socket faces and their live wiring are left resting loosely on the carpet, showing a complete abandonment of basic maintenance.
