About The Strathdon

Families after a straightforward Blackpool base, rather than a fancy stay, are the natural fit for The Strathdon. This Victorian guesthouse at 28 St Chads Road keeps things simple: comfortable, unfussy guestrooms with en-suite bathrooms, some set up as family rooms, and the practical extras that make a seaside break easier, including free WiFi, drinks in the room, and 24 hour reception.

Mornings start with a complimentary breakfast, and there's a casual pub-style bar on site for an evening drink, with kids' meals available too. Outdoor seating gives an extra spot to sit out, while concierge services, luggage storage and a laundry service take care of the practical side of a stay. Parking is available, which is a genuine help in Blackpool.

The location puts guests within easy reach of Blackpool Tower and the town's usual attractions, with restaurants, pubs and entertainment nearby, plus cycling and walking routes, golf, fishing and watersports all within striking distance for those who want to fill the days beyond the seafront.

The hotel was perfectly located. They also offer a secure locked car park for a great price, we were at ease having fun knowing our car was safe. Ian and Veronica were friendly, welcoming and attentive, recommending restaurants and the zoo, of which we went too and had a lovely time. Our room was spotless and stocked with all the essentials. Overall, a wonderful stay and would happily return.

We stayed at the the Strathdon from Friday to Sunday and we were really happy with our stay. We arrived at 14:00 for check-in. Parking is on the roadside outside and it is a one-way street. We had no problem finding a space. We were welcomed by the owners and were made to feel really welcome. Our room consisted of a double bed and a single bed but still had plenty of space. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. All bathroom amenities were provided as well as tea and coffee. The location of the hotel is great for heading into town or the Pleasure Beach. There is a tram stop (St Chads) directly opposite the road which makes it easy to get about. We chose to walk into town and it was a 20 minute walk along the promenade. Breakfast was served every morning and everything was cooked to order along with a great selection of fresh fruit, cereals and juices which were self service. The night time was nice and quiet, we didn't hear any noise from outside or from other guests. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend the Strathdon to anyone looking for a well presented, quiet B&B in Blackpool in a great location.

Amazing B&B! Location is great about 3 minutes from the beach, 10 minutes walk from Blackpool South train station and between South and Central Pier. The room was absolutely spotless with very comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious (the Strathdon omelette is AMAZING) and the portions are great! Finally Veronica and Ian were so friendly and made us so welcome. We will definitely be back 10/10

So glad we chose Strathdon for our 3 night stay.We were so lucky to get the last vacancy at a day's notice. There's not 1 negative thing i can think of. Spotless from top to bottom. Lovely touch in room (10) towels like swans, fancy touch to the bathroom too. Fabulous breakfast. Great chatting at the bar with you both. Thank you Veronica & Ian , we will definitely be back. Love from Karen & Grant Warden .
