About The Winning Post

The Winning Post is a modest, traditional guest house set on St. Chads Road in Blackpool, the kind of terraced property that has long served visitors to the resort. It offers a straightforward, homely base rather than a grand hotel experience, with 24 hour reception on hand whatever time guests arrive.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks available to enjoy in your room, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Parking is not on site but chargeable parking can be found nearby, so a car is easily accommodated if not directly outside the door.

The location puts guests within easy reach of Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower, and there's plenty to fill the day locally, with a pub, bar and restaurant nearby along with entertainment options. Those who enjoy the outdoors will find golf, fishing, cycling, walking and watersports all within reach, making it a practical stop for both classic seaside days and more active pursuits.

Absolutely shocking experience here. Turned up, no signs so was impossible to identify. No answer from the phone number or door bell, was outside for 2 hours eventually Expedia put us in another hotel. Absolute joke, why sell a room and then not fulfill, you should be ashamed.

Just came back from spending 2 nights here, must say the value for money was exceptional! New owner was very welcoming, we had no issues with our room, and slept comfortably in our beds. The owner was also kind enough to gift our daughter who was celebrating her birthday whilst staying there which was very unexpected! Will definitely be looking to return to here again!

0 stars if possible, paid for a family room For me and my friend to stay. We booked a family room as we needed the space. Photos looked ok and reviews were great. We were misled very misled. We got there and asked for a key for the room. We were told by owner Jackie that there is no key she just pointed to the back and said your in the back room, we did think this was strange but carried on regardless. Got to the room and not only did it not lock the door didn’t even close (red flag no2) again we brushed this off and didn’t raise this with the owner as we thought surely it will be ok it’s through the kitchen away from anything no one will come wondering in. How wrong were we!! I woke up at 4am to use the toilet and noticed the door to the room was wide open. As it didn’t close at all I just figured it had swung open so went to close it to as I did this I noticed a grown man sleeping in our room. Fully grown fully clothed man sleeping in a room with 2 unknowing women. I woke my friend to let her know and she went to ask him what he was doing there ( thinking he had wondered into wrong room drunk). This was not the case. The man had been sent to sleep there by the owner. He then woke the owner Jackie and she come shouting swearing and being very aggressive towards us. To the point were we got ready and went. We went for breakfast and bumped into a man that was staying there too and he informed us that he had his own experience with her stating that she (owner Jackie) had let her her self into his room with her master key (least his locked) and proceeded to get into bed with him and his wife!! Don’t know which one of us got off lighter in this situation. So in short do not stay there. Avoid at all cost. It’s not clean it’s really run down and ya might get a fully clothed gentleman or the owner in your bed in middle of night

My family went to Blackpool as a weekend away, we stayed from Friday-Sunday. We are a family of three, myself, my partner and our 1-year old daughter. We stayed here at the winning post, the room was nice and clean, small but okay. We had to provide our own travel cot which we had bought with us so it was all good. So, all was okay until the Sunday morning, my partner had gone down to Jackie and had asked what time checkout was, she had said it was 10am but we could stay until 11am, she then proceeded to abuse him saying he’s the reason she’s regrets buying a hotel, he’s selfish for being away on Father’s Day (we were away as family, with our daughter on Father’s Day), she was swearing at him saying she had spoken to his parents. She was also drinking alcohol. My partner isn’t someone who is confrontational and came back up to the room and said we needed to leave now. At this point it was about 9:30am, luckily we had packed our stuff up the night before, as we were about to leave our room the fire alarm was going off because jackie had been vaping, she came up to our room abusing us some more, we had majority of our bags but where there was only the two of us and a baby we had to do it in two trips. On leaving the room with the first lot of stuff, I had my baby in my arms and bags, my partner had the suitcase and some bags also, she stood at the top of the stairs (we were on the top floor) not letting us past, swearing and abusing us when I had my baby in my arms which is absolutely disgusting, we then managed to get by her and I felt like she was about to push me down the stairs, she had a scary look on her with nothing behind her eyes at all. Jackie then proceeded to abuse us and demanded the key off us, I told her nicely that we still had a few things we needed to get and that we’ll give her the key as soon as our stuff is out the room. When we got the rest of the stuff and gave her the key, she then chased after me and my baby saying, aw my baby, thank you so much, she just completely switched up her behaviour. I stopped her and said, absolutely not, you’ve been abusing and swearing at us for no reason at all, you’re clearly drunk and I don’t want you around my family especially my baby as on the Saturday she took my daughter from my arms. I would stay well away from this place as the owner is literally crazy and a drunk.
