About The Woodland Hotel

For travellers who want a straightforward, affordable base for a Blackpool trip rather than a fussy stay, The Woodland Hotel on Palatine Road fits the bill. It's an unpretentious, down-to-earth hotel geared towards families and those wanting easy access to the seafront attractions without paying for extras they won't use.

Rooms are simple and functional, with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms for those travelling with children, and drinks available in the room. A restaurant on site serves a continental breakfast, and room service, laundry service and 24 hour reception are all available for guests who need them. Free on-site parking is provided, though space is limited, so early arrival is worth bearing in mind.

The location puts Blackpool Tower and Pleasure Beach within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, golf, fishing, and a choice of nearby pubs and restaurants for evenings out. It suits guests after a practical, no-nonsense stay rather than a luxury break.

Stayed here many moons ago while attending a friends wedding. The room was basic but clean and tidy, the staff (all one of him) was chatty and friendly and the breakfast although small was enjoyable The only thing to let it down (and no reflection on the hotel) was that it's in Blackpool. If you like vomit, cheap tat and drag acts you'll love it.

Awful, we do not recommend. The bedding was extremely dirty, visually stained and had a terrible odour to it. We could feel every spring in the mattress and the pillows were so thin and worn. The plug socket sparked when we plugged in our charger and there was only one socket in the room. The bathroom was also dirty. The hotel was cheap so we didn’t have high expectations, but even £60 a night was a rip off. The £40 deposit we paid on top of this was not returned so ended up being a very expensive and nasty experience.

What an absolute dump we didn’t even stay the night checked in and out with in 20 minutes. Beds not made or washed human stains in bedding. Shower full of mold. Dust everywhere. 1 towel in a double room. Absolute shambles makes faulty towers look good

Just come back from a 3 night stay. Kyle was lovely and welcoming. The rooms were basic but had everything we needed including iron, tea, coffee etc and a TV. The hotel was 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach, shops etc so we was happy with the location. Overall this was a pleasant stay. Please don't be put off with some of the negative reviews as we had nice, clean rooms.
