About Thistle Dhu Guest House
Blackpool's seafront attractions are just a short distance from Bairstow Street, where Thistle Dhu Guest House offers a straightforward base for a stay in the town. With only seven rooms, it has the feel of a small, personally-run guesthouse rather than a large hotel, and free on-site parking makes it an easy option for anyone arriving by car.
Rooms are relaxed and unfussy, and it's worth knowing that some come with shared rather than en-suite bathrooms, so it suits guests who don't mind a simple set-up. The property has its own restaurant and a lounge bar on site, alongside breakfast, free WiFi and air conditioning, plus practical extras such as luggage storage, a laundry service and concierge help. There's also a garden for those wanting a bit of outdoor space.
Beyond the guesthouse itself, the surrounding area has entertainment, pubs and restaurants within easy reach, making it straightforward to head out for the evening or grab something to eat nearby. With Blackpool Tower close by, guests are well placed to explore the town's main attractions without needing to travel far.

My wife & I got asked to tag along with two friends, on Holiday September 2024, as two other Friends had pulled out, we accepted and had an amazing long weekend at this little Gem of a place, the owners couldn't be any nicer if they tried, you felt as though you'd all knew each other for years the moment you set foot in the place. Great location, spotless rooms, tea & coffee making facilities in your room, bar prices are fantastic, very quiet at night, so you get an amazing sleep in their comfy beds. It was so good an experience we booked up to go back this year for our Anniversary in August, really looking forward to it.

A real gem of a place! Highlight for me was the bar area! Decent pints and a great atmosphere and decor. The room was spotless with a great hot shower. No complaints.

Recently stayed here with my girlfriend, really do have to say that is was more then we expected upon arrival. The rooms are are brilliant and kept to a very clean standard, no dust whatsoever. The beds are comfortable and clean unlike a lot of places in the same area for a similar price. The condition of the building is 5* and of a high quality. It smells nice and looks good which isn’t usually the case for a lot of bed and breakfasts in Blackpool. They’ve got a pool table and a full bar conveniently in the hotel. The service was lovely and everything you could want and hope for and little more, both the owners and there lovely dogs are so friendly and welcoming that you it makes you feel at home home walking through the front door, I would honestly Recommend this place to anyone looking for a cost effective and reliable place to stay for a weekend or a few nights. They’ve also got a bar no more then 100 steps down the road called the jaqrussel which is a brilliant atmosphere and great place to spend a few hours drinking and relaxing in the care of the lovely pair that runs both hotel and bar, not to mention the karaoke that they have there which can be a good laugh and all round entertaining activity for you. For the prices you pay and the services you receive you’d be stupid not to book a few nights here at this hotel and also check out their bar for a few pints at reasonable prices. I’d honestly say try it and see for yourself, jacqui and Russel are so welcoming and friendly you’ll wanna come back again and also be recommending it to your friends.
