Beautiful! If you are English Heritage or CSSC you can get in for free. Once you do and you go through reception you enter into the museum part and gift shop which is interesting. The Abbey itself is huge! We had a lovely time exploring with our dog and daughter. It must have been exceptional in its day. Lovely place. Well worth a visit!

So much history and atmosphere in this place. It must have been an imposing group of buildings once. I loved walking around the extensive ruins. I had my dog with me on a lead, which is permitted. I would have appreciated more information boards around the buildings to explain what they are, but there is a small museum within the shop at the entrance - my dog was too impatient for me to go outside for me to read much. Definitely worth a visit. There is a car park right outside the entrance.

Chris Sandham took me to this beautiful piece of history of yours, and visiting Furness Abbey was truly memorable. The ruins are breathtaking and carry a powerful sense of the past, with impressive stone arches and walls that still tell the story of centuries gone by. Surrounded by peaceful greenery, it’s a place where history and nature meet in a remarkable way. Absolutely worth the visit. 5/5.

I can highly recommand a visit to Furness Abbey! I believe that it's the hugest abbey I have visited. It's impression. There are two car parks. English Heritage mantains the ruin and sells a booklet. There is a small museum as well and a Cafe nearby.
