About The Ashleigh
Southcote Road sits just a short distance from central Bournemouth, with the New Forest National Park close enough to make a good day out, and the coast and town within easy walking range. The Ashleigh occupies this quiet residential spot, giving guests a base that feels settled away from the bustle but is never far from it.
The ten rooms are adults-only and en-suite, kept spotless and comfortable, with drinks available in room and free WiFi throughout. Breakfast is cooked fresh each morning, and there's a restaurant and bar on site along with a garden and outdoor seating for warmer days. Dogs are treated as properly welcome rather than merely tolerated, with personalised bowls, treats and even raincoats provided, plus breakfast options for canine guests too. The host is attentive and hands-on, looking after both owners and pets with genuine care.
Practical extras include free on-site parking, an electric vehicle charge point, luggage storage, laundry service and concierge help with plans. The surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, with golf, fishing and watersports nearby, and plenty of pubs and restaurants within easy reach for evenings out.

What guests say
We took our dog on a weekend get away to Bournemouth and were surprised to find a dedicated dog friendly B&B. From the second we arrived the service was brilliant, we were welcomed and showed to our room and provided with all the information for our stay. The room was very well equipped with a tea and coffee station, a comfy bed, a very new smart tv with wifi and a shower room. Our dog was also gifted his very own personalized water bowl! A rope toy and some treats. We had trouble getting the shower to a comfortable temperature but we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Bournemouth with or without a dog.

Perfect perfect perfect! We’re firm believers in the dog (Lucy!) coming with us everywhere we go and, at The Ashleigh, it didn’t feel like she was an inconvenience or second thought - the full experience was designed for her enjoyment and comfort. Starting with a lovely warm welcome from the most excellent host (also Lucy!), our stay was nothing short of brilliant. A comfortable bed in a humongous, clean room; a beautiful garden for Lucy to play in; a delicious homemade breakfast (with homemade bread no less!); and so many little extras that just *make* your stay - we couldn’t recommend The Ashleigh enough. Location is excellent for the beaches and town (walking distance), with lots of parking - a blessing after a long drive down to Bournemouth! Corner shop nearby and a big Asda across the road for any essentials, but Lucy has thought of all of these already - toiletries all stocked in the rooms (as well as some lovely little surprises!) and a coffee machine and tea making supplies ready to go. Dogs are very very welcome throughout, with beds available in the shared living room and treats tucked away at every turn. We especially loved the wall of fame to see all the other doggy guests before us! Even with all the furry friends around, The Ashleigh is spotless - not a stray hair or whiff of ‘wet dog’ to be found (very VERY impressive!!) All in all, we LOVED our stay here. It’s easy to see why The Ashleigh has won so may dog friendly awards - we’ll certainly be back! 🐾🤍

We recently stayed at this lovely dog-friendly B&B and had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. What really stood out was how genuinely welcoming they were to both us and our dog. It’s rare to find somewhere that is truly pet-friendly rather than just pet-tolerant! Our dog was made to feel just as welcome as we were, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable. The host was very friendly, attentive, and couldn’t do enough to help. Breakfast was excellent, and the atmosphere throughout our stay was warm and relaxing. We would happily return again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming dog-friendly getaway.
