About Mayfield Hotel

Bournemouth's town centre lies less than a mile from the Mayfield Hotel, making it a handy base for exploring the seaside destination while staying somewhere quieter on Frances Road in Dorset. The New Forest National Park is also within easy reach, giving guests a countryside option alongside the coastal one.

The Mayfield Hotel has just 10 rooms, many keeping a cosy, old-fashioned character with period features rather than a modern makeover. There's a restaurant with vintage decor for meals, a bar for evening drinks, and breakfast is available each morning. A garden gives some outdoor space, and free WiFi and concierge services are on hand for practical needs.

Free on-site parking is included, which makes arriving by car straightforward. It's a modest, characterful hotel rather than a large resort, suited to those who want a simple stay close to Bournemouth without extra frills.

Really, really awful B&B! Don't go there please! It is cheap, but even then it is not worth your money... Unfriendly people, not helpful at all! Rooms are cleaned every 2 days (they say after my stay), but this is not communicated, so you'll find your towels at the shower floor by the end of the day. So I asked for a clean towel, but I got a really rude response that the rooms are cleaned every 2 days. Then I said that I didn't know that, the reply was: now you know... Further really small room, really noisy accommodation and the bed is 1,30 meters by 1,80, so too small for two people. The shower gives so little water that you hardly get wet, never seen a shower so bad! So again, don't go here!

You get what you pay for. Very basic facilities but all that we needed. Would have been nice to see someone who worked there as our code was wrong so was a good job they texted the welcome info so we had a number to call, which they answered straight away. We went for 2 nights with a 1 year and they provided a travel cot free of charge which was great. Access to the kitchen we realised after the 1st night, so again someone to give a welcome chat when you arrive would improve this stay massively. But £150 in the middle of August, at the weekend, walking distance from the beach. Freed up more money to spend on our stay!

The most terrible part of my trip . Don't ever think to stay there during your trip unless you would want to turn it into nightmare like mine. They are all cheaters and cheap people sitting in there to snatch your money, all the information they gave before booking was fake and literally robbed our money. It's basically a very old Victorian house turned hotel with no ventilation , no lights , not even attached bathrooms in all rooms, no hotel stuff , very poor security, broken doors locks, no restaurant within the hotel though they mentioned they have earlier before booking . Far from Beaches, with almost no housekeepings .

Managed to book a room for 2 Ensuite for a very reasonable price just few hours before check-in. 🕟 Very friendly & helpful hotel manager/owner and their family.😊 Room was at 2nd Floor ~ Poor Wifi. Decent Room/Toilet with a small TV and free channels. 🖥 Was provided with clean towel/soap. Clean bedding. 🛌🚽🚿 Breakfast Not Free 🚫 Very Close to Train Station/Asda & Town with loads of takeaways/restaurants nearby 🍱🍧🍜🍲 Overall happy! 😄
