About The Green House Hotel
The Green House occupies a restored Grade II listed Victorian villa a short walk from Bournemouth's beaches and town centre, and it has built its reputation on sustainability rather than treating it as an afterthought. Solar panels, an on-site well, an electric car charging point and a policy of sourcing as much food and drink as possible from within thirty miles all sit behind a hotel that still feels like a comfortable, design-led boutique stay rather than an eco showcase.
The 32 bedrooms are all individually decorated, mixing reclaimed and vintage furniture with contemporary fabrics and locally made fittings, and no two rooms are quite the same shape or layout given the building's period origins. Bathrooms are modern throughout, and several of the larger rooms retain original Victorian features such as fireplaces and high ceilings.
The restaurant holds two AA Rosettes for its seasonal, largely local menu, and there is a bar and lounge for drinks or afternoon tea. The hotel offers direct-booking guests free on-site parking, a point that matters in a town where parking near the seafront can otherwise be difficult and expensive to arrange.
It suits couples and independent travellers who want a boutique alternative to Bournemouth's larger seafront hotels, within easy walking distance of both the beach and the shops and restaurants of the town centre. The New Forest is also within easy reach for those wanting to combine a coastal stay with some inland countryside.

Had a wonderful break at this venue, it was our anniversary get away after a long time and we had an amazing time. The location is really good about a 10 min walk to the beach and town centre. We did not try the food as we were out most of the day. However, dinner time melt amazing. Next time we plan on having our dinner at the restaurant. We booked the room which had the bath in the room, and it was amazing to chill and watch a movie with a few drinks. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

We were really disappointed with our stay. Although the hotel promotes itself as a “green” and organic hotel, our experience was the opposite. We ordered fresh orange juice twice from the menu and received carton juice both times. The vegan breakfast was extremely poor: stale bread, a packaged muffin, fruit, and processed vegan yogurt with nothing fresh or organic. The hotel’s image simply doesn’t match the reality, and we expected much better.

This was our first stay and we were very impressed by how premium this hotel felt. For a budget price, it was very good value. We loved how good the decor looked, almost like it had been renovated recently and the free popcorn was a nice touch, as well as the fresh milk on arrival. Plus, the receptionists were very welcoming. That said, there are several improvements I’d like to see: - The shower was very ‘dribbly’ and not powerful enough. - The bed was too small. - A shelf would be nice to put the tea making facilities on, instead of on the floor. - A lock on the toilet door would be good. - A place to put your shampoo, and shower toiletries, rather than having to balance them on the shower taps. - Paying for parking felt like an unnecessary charge. We’d go back.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious as were the two meals we had in the restaurant in the evening. Service was a little slow,in the mornings, but we think they had staff off sick and it was a busy period, being half term and great weather. The room and bathroom were well decorated and the furniture was a good quality, but we struggle to store our belongings as there was not enough draws etc. Had been there for any longer we would have had a big problem. This was a shame because there was plenty of room for better storage.
