About Hotel Miramar

Bournemouth's seafront, cliff walks and watersports are all within easy reach of Hotel Miramar on East Overcliff Drive, along with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for evenings out. Cyclists and walkers have plenty of routes close by, and the beach itself is a short distance away, making this a practical base for exploring the town without needing a car once you've parked it.

Rooms are en-suite and come with comfortable furnishings and, in many cases, sea views, with drinks available in room and room service on request. The hotel also has a bridal suite and accessible rooms, along with a lift, so it suits a range of guests. A garden and outdoor seating area add space to relax outside, while the restaurant and bar handle food and drink on site, including a breakfast and Sunday roast that guests rate highly.

Staff are generally friendly and attentive, though service has been known to vary at busier times. Practical extras include free WiFi, luggage storage, business services and on-site parking, and pets are welcome. For fishing, cycling or simply walking the clifftop, the surrounding area gives guests plenty to do beyond the hotel itself.

Although the room was more than a twin room I’d usually pay for it was larger and we had a balcony with a great view. The room could have done with a small fridge but otherwise well equipped. The bathroom was fine and clean. The food menu had some delicious food on and some average meals. The pricing was odd between bar meal and ala carte, the days specials are classed as ala carte. The staff made it, they were friendly and very accommodating. They were all polite and helpful. 5 stars to them as they worked very hard. It was obvious they could have had more staff, the small bar was not always covered and the dinner tables in the bar room were not cleared after we ate so we moved to other tables after to drink . The breakfast was excellent . It’s a shame there was not enough staff as they didn’t stop and the terraced tables were also left with empty glasses on for a long period. Not a criticism of the staff but an observation for more staff needed. The garden was immaculate and the view amazing. I’d definitely take my parents again. 5 stars to the staff. Owners need to employ more staff.

A great hotel at a walking distance of bournemouth pier. The walk is nice and the road is quiet. The hotel ambience is a pleasant calm and quiet. Most people we've met during our stay were seniors. It is not a hotel where you will see men having beer and watching football in the lounge, it is safe for families and you can truly relax in the garden. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. There is aircon, food was exceptionally delicious, breakfast is great, coffee is good. Staff is more than helpful, patient and welcoming, they've gone above and beyond to help me in every single aspect. Room service, another 5 stars. Absolutely faultless and I hope we can be back again soon.

Last week we held our Wedding Vow Renewal ceremony in the hotel Library with dinner afterwards. We stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful, memorable time. We couldn't praise the staff more highly, Brian and Asta in particular. So friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our Celebrant and Photographer had worked with Brian before and everything went very smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, both at dinner for just us in the main restaurant the night before and when cooked and served for 22 people at once. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable with plenty of storage. We only gave 4 stars because our bathroom originally had no blind at the window and anyone in the garden would have seen straight in at night. However when we explained this we were immediately offered another room so everything was fine. I know the blind is going to be fixed. One of guests needed some peace and quiet and the team went "above and beyond" to support her. I would trust the hotel to be considerate to anyone. We are local, but for visitors who aren't local, there is plenty of parking and the hotel is near the beach with beautiful views. I'm sure we'll be back for dinner again soon! Thank you again for one of the best days of our lives.

The Jewels in the crown of Hotel Miramar are it's beautiful well kept front Gardens, patio area and stunning sea views. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms cleanliness was very good. Location of the Hotel is close to sea front, and the wonderful Russell Cotes house. But be aware it is on the top of the cliffs and therefore a steep climb back from the Pier. The hotel is a traditional British hotel, with the majority of guests are older. The Hotels decor and furnishings are warn. My beds mattresses dipped in the middle. The rooms TV had very poor reception and even after attempting to retune only a few channels were watchable, but they were still pixilated. With such a wonderful patio to sit on and enjoy a drink it's such a shame that the bar area and inside seating area is so uninviting. I was also shocked to find out at check out that a 10% service charge was added to my bar bill when I collected all our drinks from the bar and I had to wait to be served between a bar full of empty glasses. If a waiter had taken orders and brought drinks to us at our table on the patio a service charge would have been appropriate. Charges for Breakfast are opaque, it seems of you book direct breakfast is included. But if you book via Expedia etc then Breakfast is £17.50, but they then add 10% a service charge on top. Breakfast itself is good, but 1/4 of a slice of fried bread is tight and as its deep fried an alternative toast would be good. Not sure that toast in a serving bag is a good idea or hygienic, a nice toast rack would be better. Service at breakfast is slow, having to wait 5/10 minutes for your tea/coffee until staff take your order is not good practice. I would expect either tea/coffee to be self service or that you are offered a drink as soon as you sit down. The dining area, deco and furniture itself are warn, and staff failed to take used plates promptly or clear tables.
