Adults-only canalside pitches near Trowbridge, three miles from Bradford-on-Avon

About Marsh Farm Caravan Site

Marsh Farm Caravan Site occupies a peaceful stretch of the Kennet and Avon Canal at Hilperton, just outside Trowbridge and three miles from Bradford-on-Avon. Split into two small areas, the year-round Paddock Site offers five fully serviced hardstanding pitches with electric hookup overlooking grazing paddocks and the canal, while the seasonal Canal Site runs down to the towpath with five grass pitches (no electric) and a cold water tap. Both share a toilet and shower block.

Adults-only throughout, the site is exclusively for caravans and motorhomes—no tents—which helps maintain its genuinely tranquil character. Direct towpath access means you can walk, cycle or paddle into Bradford-on-Avon, Bath or Devizes without using the car, and the canal is popular for coarse fishing and canoe launching. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

There's no shop or wifi, keeping things refreshingly simple, though Hilperton and Trowbridge are close enough for supplies. The canalside setting more than compensates for the lack of extras if you're touring this corner of Wiltshire.

Called here on the off chance after visiting Stonehenge, beautiful little site, well maintained and clean, thanks to the lovely site manager Debbie who made us very welcome. Would definitely stay again when in the area. @YorkshirrsFinestPair

What a lovely little campsite! We stayed on the cl which is very close to the canal. Flat ground. Peaceful location. Shower and loos were a little walk but not a problem - they were very clean. Debbie was very friendly and helpful. We cycled along the towpath to Bradford on Avon in the evening and the following day to Caen locks (18.5 miles round trip) Even managed to get a just eat delivery !! Amazing. Will definitely be back 🙂

Owners are lovely. Hardstanding has great views, our motorhome would sink on grass : ) Big open skies. Yes, there is a small industrial estate to the back, with some daytime noise, didn't stop me from hearing a cacophony of birdsong throughout the day. There are a couple of cafes, and an amazing metal sculptor and silversmith on site. Easy stroll to the canal. And yes, the toilet block is shared, but designated m and f toilets, 2 of each, and one shower. Very clean. If you don't like shared facilities, then most of us have spent thousands on vans with toilets. Can't wait to come back.

Great place to stay. Walks or cycle rides to. Bradford on Avon & Devizes along the Kenneth & Avon Canal. Cafes, forge, jewellery and bookshop etc in the area just up from the site. People are very friendly. Accessible to local buses.
