About Travelodge Braintree
Travelodge Braintree suits anyone who needs a no-fuss base for a night or two, whether that's a work trip, a family visit, or a stop before exploring the Essex countryside. With 70 en-suite rooms spread across four floors, it's built for practical, budget-friendly stays rather than lingering weekends, though it does the job well for either.
Rooms come with the standard Travelodge setup, including family options and drinks available in-room, while the on-site restaurant and bar cover breakfast and evening meals without needing to leave the building. A lift serves all floors, and reception is staffed around the clock. Electric vehicle charging is available, and pets are welcome, which makes this a reasonable choice for travellers on the road with animals in tow. Parking itself isn't on site, but Victoria Square car park is a minute's walk next door, at a small extra cost.
The location puts guests close to Braintree town centre and Braintree Village, with countryside walks nearby for those wanting a break from the road. Golf, pubs, restaurants, and other eateries are all within easy reach, making it a sensible pick for both business travellers ticking off appointments and leisure visitors using Braintree as a stopover.
Guests consistently praise this hotel for its comfortable rooms featuring very comfortable beds and effective heating and AC systems, complemented by a good variety of breakfast options. The convenient location, helpful staff, and excellent value for money are also frequently highlighted by visitors.
Some reviews mention there can be an unpleasant smell.
