About Danyfan Carriage
Tucked into a small woodland beside a babbling stream, this lovingly restored Victorian railway carriage offers an enchanting retreat in the Brecon Beacons. The interior blends original wood paneling with soft paintwork, botanical prints on the walls, and a cosy wood-burning stove—while the sunny deck and fire-pit garden are perfect for soaking up mountain views. A few paces away you'll find a compost loo and hot shower; inside, a comfortable double bed and simple gas cooking mean you're genuinely off-grid yet surprisingly comfortable.
Your hosts leave a thoughtful welcome hamper—Stevie's sourdough, homemade brownies, bacon, milk, and butter—plus you're invited to collect fresh eggs from the resident hens. It's a peaceful, remote spot ideal for walkers and wildlife-watchers, though the carriage itself can feel snug rather than spacious, so pack light and embrace the simplicity.

What visitors say
Well appointed and well looked after Cottage with a warm welcome that I would recommend. The scenery is beautiful, and after some long walks to the waterfalls and peaks the comfortable beds were a blessing. Looking forward to our next visit.

This cottage is a lovely family cottage to stay in and is very cosy! The cottage is on the top floor with the friendly owner living downstairs (don't worry, she won't disturb you often and makes sure you are comfortable.) There are 3 cats on the farm but they will mostly leave you alone and won't attack you! There are sheep in fields surrounding the property which is nice to wake up to out your window! There are quite a lot of spiders and cobwebs and dust in this place but overall it is quite clean. There is a seating area just outside the house with a small garden and a bridge over a covered up stream. (full of weeds so you can't see it properly) In one of the fields that the sheep are sometimes in, there are two swings and area to run about in for kids to blow of some steam while you can watch them from the picnic bench with some wine! One note about the bedrooms, make sure your kids don't hate each other as they have to share a room! Overall, a very lovely cottage with some stunning walks surrounding it and the show-caves not far away. ( I would highly recommend going there with family, it has very pretty scene and a ground train!)

Excellent cottage with all the facilities you would want. Elegantly converted farm buildings, with exposed beams in an excellent location.
