About Blackmore Farm

Blackmore Farm suits anyone wanting a slower, countryside-based stay rather than a city hotel, particularly those keen to explore Somerset while still eating well and sleeping somewhere characterful. This is a working farm with a B&B attached, offering ten rooms with en-suite bathrooms, garden views, and drinks provided in the room. Accessible rooms are available, and free on-site parking makes it a practical base for driving around the wider area.

Breakfast is a genuine highlight, with the farm's own shop and cafe supplying much of the food, including well-regarded scrambled eggs and Welsh rarebit alongside homemade ready meals for those who want something for later. Packed lunches can also be arranged, useful for a day out exploring. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the farm setting itself has a charm that guests often single out, with fair pricing throughout.

Beyond the farm, there's a pub or bar, restaurants, and entertainment nearby, plus golf and fishing within reach for those wanting to fill their days actively. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception cover the practical side, while luggage storage suits those breaking up a longer tour of the region. It's a straightforward, well-run base for a Somerset break rather than a destination in itself.

This place is beautifully laid out next to the amazing Blackmore Manor (built in the late 1400's. I was visiting the farmshop, which is stocked with amazing food. Great place to pick supplies for a self catering cottage. I was particularly drawn to the ready to bake croissants and pain au chocolate

We stopped for a quick snack enroute, expectations were high, beautiful old manor house rural setting, what could be a better place for a farm shop? We both had sausage baps at £ 7.00 each. They arrived promptly, what a disappointment each mass produced white roll contained 2 of the lowest quality catering sausages, I only ate 1 because I was hungry. I was expecting at least a proper butchers sausage with proper meat and some texture. So disappointed, am I wrong to expect a quality product from a farm shop for £7.00 for a sausage bap and not a meat puree tube.

Went here for Full English Breakfast today with some friends. Good quality food, friendly efficient service, in one of their wooden cabins....all have little heaters but still need to be dressed warm. Recommended.

My children booked a table as a surprise today, for Mothering Sunday. To say the breakfast was VERY disappointing is an understatement, the bacon was so hard and dry that you couldn’t even cut it, let alone chew it, the egg was so hard that it nearly bounced off the plate when you cut it, mushrooms were cold and the sausage had no taste. However the tomatoes beans and toast were nice. We waited an hour and a half to be served after ordering. Felt sorry for my children who were thoroughly disappointed by the whole experience. Will not be recommending.
