About Brightlingsea Touring Park
This well-kept lakeside site on the edge of Brightlingsea puts you within easy reach of the Essex Sunshine Coast's family-friendly attractions. Spacious hardstanding and grass pitches – some with lake views – come with electric and water hookups, and dogs are welcome. The shower and toilet facilities can feel a little cold, but the location more than compensates: Brightlingsea's high street, with its traditional pubs and global restaurants, is just five minutes on foot, as are the colourful beach huts of sandy Brightlingsea beach.
After a swim or watersports session – everything from canoeing to jet-skiing – take a leisurely stroll along the promenade and join the nature trail that follows the River Colne to Alresford Creek. A ten-minute walk in the opposite direction leads to Brightlingsea Harbour, where you can board a barge for a sailing tour among the moored pleasure boats. Birdwatchers should bring binoculars, and on rainy days, Brightlingsea Museum offers interactive exhibits for restless kids.

What visitors say
Been here a few times now and to honest I thought I had found my new favourite, what's not to like about brightlingsea. However, I went there a few weeks ago and was so disappointed by the whole experience. For starters our pitch was under the only sizable tree on site which didn't allow for any warmth from the sun all day so sitting outside was very chilly. I know you can't control the weather but the pitches in question really should be allocated last which they were definitely not. I soon started to notice the pitches were looking very neglected, weeds and clumps of grass seemed to be taking over which were quite well established. The biggest thing for me though was the amount of breakdown trucks and commercials parked on the road and grass at the entrance to the site, and at times inside the site. At one point there were people working on a vehicle which was on the back of a truck and the conversations and language was somewhat unnecessary. The breakdown trucks seem to be owned by the site caretaker who we were told to speak to if we needed anything. Felt very let down.

Love this caravan site. Quite and very close to the sea 🌊 with a lovely little town 😀

Stayed here on a Saturday evening in June. Great pitch, facilities are clean and there are multiple toilets and showers (not something every site has!). Site was tidy and Nicki the manager is super helpful. Site is well located for the promenade and harbour for pubs, food and walks with great views. Only reason it’s not 5* is there aren’t any amenities such as a shop etc, but we will be back!

Place is okay but toilet facilities are pathetic. No soap, no rolls, no cleaning at all. Toilets were smelling and very dirty. Shower facility is almost next to nothing. Even after telling the caretaker, he did not do anything. Bins were also overflowing. Only cash accepted to pay for the pitch.
