About Mersea Island Holiday Park
Mersea Island Holiday Park delivers that increasingly rare combination: proper seaside camping with all the family-friendly bells and whistles. Non-electric grass pitches here are spacious and well-kept, and you're only a short stroll from the park's private sandy beach on the Blackwater Estuary – ideal for long coastal walks, paddleboarding or simply watching the light shift across the water. Dogs are welcome year-round, and there's even a dedicated dog park on site.
When the weather turns, the indoor pool comes into its own, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass roof flooding the space with natural light, while kids burn energy on the outdoor adventure playground or the vast grassy area perfect for cricket. The Muddy Duck Clubhouse serves pizzas and burgers alongside evening entertainment – bingo, live music and outdoor cinema screenings in late summer. Facilities include a food shop, launderette and bar, though some visitors note that service can occasionally be slow to respond.
West Mersea, a ten-minute drive away, offers more shops and restaurants when you fancy venturing beyond the park's well-stocked amenities.

What visitors say
A LOVELY PLACE TO RELAX AFTER A LONG JOURNEY. We are visiting the UK from Bulgaria and after a long drive over many days and found this safe haven to relax and readjust for a few days. The caravan was excellent and the proximity to the beach and front was great for walking the dog. It was just what we needed to wind down. We intend to stay again on our return journey. Thank you to Lewis and the team.

Loved this place. We booked the cottage and a few caravans, all were extremely clean and well presented. Great for the dogs, lots of scenic walks and they are allowed in the club house. Food from the little van was delicious (open weekends) and the entertainment on Saturday evening was good. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. There is also a lovely pub in walking distance. We will definitely be back ❤

Really enjoyed it here, we were in #17 The elms. It wasn't busy, so nice and quiet. We had the pool to ourselves the first day (Thurs) and only one other family the next. It would've been nice to have an extra hour as it went quickly. The pool does not have a lifeguard and we brought our own noodles, floats and pool sink toys. (Nothing large like rubber rings as it may be busy) The shop was in low supply so glad I brought alot of things from home and there was a Tesco or coop about 10 mins drive away. The weather worked well and driving 13 mins to mersea pontoon to go crabbing was absolutely worth it! Even though it was a chilly April, we caught plenty. Signal is weak and internet is VERY low (free WiFi) but as we were away as a family it didn't bother us much. Only during downtime in the evenings, so don't expect much unless u have your own and can hotspot or pay for the service. Over all I'd come back and would recommend, its been a great few nights away from routine day to day life.
