Pleasant stay at the Badger Sett house in The Middle of Nowhere group of 8 houses. Stayed at the Badger Sett house with a family of 5 in February. House had a nice modern touch to it with nice comfy beds. Bathroom well appointed with large free standing bath tub. Shower nice and powerful. Positives - comfy beds, good central heating to keep the house warm in winter months. Good kitchen with a range to appliances as expected. Hot tub jacuzzi was a nice touch and well heating and worked as expected. Negatives:- house not cleaned properly. Although all visible surfaces appear clean, under the sofas, beds and behind the bath was full of dust and hair and lost underwear. Cleaning schedule requires looking at. Some cutlery and plates in the kitchen cupboards were filthy Dishwasher lacking any sort of maintenance. It was filthy at the bottom where the filter is with no rinse aid or salt or in it. This was would explain why the crockery and cutlery was still filthy. The washing machine in the shared utility room was clearing lacking any sort of cleaning and maintenance as the door seal was full of dirt, detergent and hair. Bin out by the play area was full and overflowing.

Amazing stay! We found this place perfect for a weekend stay for our family (2 adults and 5 year old). Very clean. Kitchen well equipped and hot tub was great! Good selection of pubs offering food nearby along with attractions such as the bug park, Roarr Dinosaur Park and Golf Course. Fab base for exploring Norfolk.

Stayed here for 4 nights as a birthday getaway with my partner. We stayed off-season during winter so it was nice & quiet with only a couple other lodges occupied. Lodges are well presented, modern & have all the facilities you need for a short break. Nice big rooms & lovely to have a private hot tub. While we enjoyed our stay, it wasn't perfect but there's some easy-wins to make it so: Firstly we arrived & there was no book or information sheet about the property - no instructions for the heating, requirements for checking out, wifi password etc. Not a massive deal but when we tried contacting the host via the details on our booking all our calls & texts went unanswered, good job it wasn't an actual emergency! Thankfully by chance there was a different phone number on a flyer about the on-site shop, we contacted that number and thankfully got a response but if we hadn't found that then not sure what we would have done. Secondly, cleanliness could be improved. Whilst it was ok, the kitchen sink was dirty on arrival, several dishes & glasses weren't fully clean from the dishwasher, stained grouting in the bathroom & hairs on the bedsheets & towels. Completely understand it's a holiday lodge probably with a frequent turnover of people but these are described as "luxurious holiday homes" on the booking so as a basic would expect them to be clean. Thirdly, some more privacy would be ideal. At the front of the each lodge is a large window looking right into the living room. There are no blinds or net-curtain, only a normal curtain so if you don't want people looking in then you just have to keep the curtains closed which obviously makes it dark. Likewise the glass front doors are only obscured with a curtain, not so much of a problem but again make it dark. A number of other windows at the front & side have no privacy at all. Lastly, the shower was a problem & broken. As others have mentioned, only 1 bathroom on the ground floor off the living room. Our large rainfall shower head was broken & unusable, water just streamed out from the edge of it rather than out the nozzles. There was another small shower head we had to use but wasn't great for a grown adult. Additionally, there is a shower curtain which is more effective at clinging to you than preventing water getting out. After every shower the floor around the shower & toilet is completely drenched. These lodges have a lot going for them & I'd still suggest them as a place to stay but just a few changes would make them perfect.
