About The Parson Woodforde
Norwich's compact centre is well served by pubs with rooms, and The Parson Woodforde on Church St is one of the more comfortable options for staying above a proper bar rather than in a chain hotel. It has just five rooms, kept clean and comfortable, with free on-site parking a genuine bonus for a city-centre address.
Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are the main draw, with a menu that runs to hearty Sunday roasts and fresh seafood specials, generous portions and plenty of choice. Staff are attentive and the atmosphere is cosy rather than corporate. Guests also have use of a garden, gym, spa and sauna, plus practical extras such as free WiFi, air conditioning, a lift, and drinks brought to the room.
It also works as a wedding venue, and business travellers are catered for with dedicated services and porter or concierge support. Beyond the front door, Norwich's own pubs, restaurants and entertainment are within easy reach, making this a straightforward base for exploring the city on foot.

What guests say
We had a fantastic two-night stay at The Parson Woodforde. Check-in was quick and easy, and our room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with everything we needed, including tea and coffee-making facilities. It was a lovely touch that the room was cleaned and fresh towels provided during our stay. As we needed to leave early on our first morning, the team kindly prepared breakfast ciabattas for us to collect, which were delicious and much appreciated. The staff throughout our stay were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We ate in the pub both evenings and enjoyed breakfast on our second morning. Every meal was excellent, with quick service and great quality food. The pub is situated in a lovely, quiet location with plenty of parking, a nice beer garden, and well-maintained surroundings. It made an ideal base for our visit to the Royal Norfolk Show, being just a 15-minute drive from the showground. We also enjoyed a visit to Felbrigg Hall on the way. Overall, a wonderful stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!

I have eaten here with a friend twice. On both occasions the menu has been wide and imaginative, providing plenty of choice. The food has been exceptionally good, carefully cooked, excellent ingredients, and served well. There is a real care about quality. They serve three different real ales, a real treat. When I pointed out that my first choice was at the end of the barrel, they swapped to another one, and took the first one offf...and thanked me. Perfect. I thoroughly recommend this pub/restaurant.

A last minute find as most other places only serving Mother's day specials! A real find. Had been recommended and certainly lived up to expectations. Sunday roast was lovely, not too big to be wasteful but plenty and a good selection. Abbot ale on tap and kept well. Staff very pleasant, polite and helpful. Will definitely be going back!

Had high hopes of a local home cooked food. Real shame the chef let the team down. Ordered the Lamb off the special menu. Took nearly an hour to get our food. Lamb was a tiny portion and basically fat and grisel. My wife ordered the Steak and Blue cheese salad, and did not receive the blue cheese? How could you get this all so wrong? We then had to wait another half hour to get our food buy which time the rest of our group had finished their food. Very disappointing considering how much we were being charged for the meals. Will not be coming back to this place again. Completely ruined our evening.
