What visitors say
We had such a wonderful stay at Cowslip. Cassie and Chris have clearly thought of every detail – the delicious apple juice on arrival was a lovely touch. The treehouse is beautifully equipped to a very high standard, and all the thoughtful little extras made our stay incredibly comfortable. Waking up to that view was truly special – it really feels like you’re tucked away in the trees and completely removed from the outside world. We also received all the information we needed ahead of our arrival, including really helpful recommendations for the local area, which made everything easy and stress-free. We’ve already recommended and wouldn’t hesitate to return – such a special place.

We stayed at the Journeyman Tree Cabin for my 30th birthday, and it was exactly what I was hoping for - somewhere cosy, relaxing, and a little removed from the world so I could properly switch off with friends. It absolutely delivered and honestly exceeded expectations. It’s easy enough to get to, but when they say off-grid, they really mean it. Once you reach the farm, you follow a dirt track into the woods and feel yourself leaving normal life behind. We visited in January so it was very wet and muddy, but the moment we stepped inside the cabin it was worth it - stunning, spacious, and beautifully designed while still feeling warm and homely. It genuinely feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, with total peace and quiet but all the comforts you’d want. The facilities made the long weekend perfect. We had everything we needed - a pool table, a huge dining table for shared meals and games, big sofas and plenty of comfortable seating, plus a projector that became the centre of our karaoke and film nights. A storm hit on our first evening which affected the WiFi, but the hosts were incredibly responsive and did everything they could to help. I’d just say this isn’t somewhere to rely on for remote working - but if your goal is to properly disconnect, it’s ideal. There’s also a beautiful walking route through farmland leading to the Green Dragon pub, which made for a great outing and a well-earned stop at the end of a scenic walk. Even in the rain we made full use of the outdoor claw-foot bathtubs. They were hot, sheltered, and felt wonderfully tucked into nature - soaking there while listening to the rain on the roof was genuinely one of the highlights of the trip. This is the perfect place to unwind at any time of year. I’d love to come back in summer to make full use of the outdoor pizza oven and BBQs. A 10/10 stay - would absolutely recommend.

I booked a two night stay in Humboldt for my girlfriend’s birthday and it was so lovely. So relaxing and peaceful. The host left a lovely local bottle of apple juice and milk from. Ample firewood was provided and the kitchen had everything (and more) you would need to prepare and cook breakfast, lunch and dinners. Hosts were so responsive and kind. We loved the outdoor bathtub and local walking routes. All in all, a lovely place to stay and relax. We’ll definitely be staying again.

We stayed at the Journeyman Cabin and it's absolutely fantastic. Worth it alone just for the sunrise as pictured, it's even better in person. Double outside baths is a genius move and totally different experience than a hot tub, loved it. Especially in the dark and cold with the owls. Pizza Oven was great but didn't get around to the bbq or the amazing looking outside seating downstairs as it was far too cold for that. The communal space is amazing for a mixed group of 8, loads of space but very open so youre never isolated.
