About Court Farm Camping
Tucked into oak woods on a working sheep farm, Court Farm Camping offers proper wild camping in the Powys hills. You'll pitch on grass clearings with picnic benches, falling asleep to sheep bleating and birdsong, waking to mountain air and (in spring) lambs frolicking in nearby fields. The setup is refreshingly simple: a portable toilet and permission to light your own firepit under the trees.
The location puts serious walking within easy reach. The Brecon Beacons lie 25 minutes' drive south, the Cambrian Mountains 35 minutes north, and the reservoir-studded Elan Valley a similar distance west. Closer still, Builth Road station is a five-minute stroll, connecting you to the Offa's Dyke Path via Knighton. After a day on the hills, Builth Wells (20 minutes on foot) supplies pubs, cafés and proper meals along the Wye.
Facilities are minimal by design, so come prepared – though that's exactly the appeal for those craving a genuinely wild Welsh break without the bells and whistles.

Fantastic site about 20 minutes walk from Builth Wells. I was in my little campervan and my son had a pitch for his tent. We stayed in the wooded area which was perfect. Very friendly and welcoming host. A nice loo and sink on-site which was very clean. Located on farmland so beautiful sheep and lambs all around. The River Wye at the bottom of the grass field. Very quiet and tranquil. You can't go wrong staying here. 5 Stars! Stayed June 2026.
