Bryn Teg

Llanwrtyd Wells sits in the heart of Mid Wales among moorland and farmland. Bryn Teg is a contemporary lodge on the edge of town, entirely on the ground floor and designed so you never need to tackle stairs. The main living space is open plan, with a sitting area containing a sofa bed if needed, plus an electric fire and smart TV. Patio doors open directly onto a decked area where you can watch red kites and other wildlife over the fields beyond.

You get two proper bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed and ensuite shower, the other a double. There's also a family bathroom with a bath and shower. The kitchen is well set up for cooking, with a gas hob and electric oven, and there's a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. One dog stays free. Essentials like heating, electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are covered. On-site parking takes two cars. The decked area has garden furniture and a gas barbecue.

Builth Wells is just over a mile away, offering fishing, golf and a swimming pool. The landscape around Llanwrtyd Wells itself draws walkers and cyclists, and pony trekking is available locally. No smoking inside the lodge.
