About Wallace Lane Farm
Tucked near Caldbeck in the northern Lake District fringes, Wallace Lane Farm has earned its stellar reputation through meticulous attention to detail and a genuinely warm welcome. The spotless shower and toilet blocks set a high standard, while thoughtful touches like communal fridges and microwaves add real convenience. Pitches range from traditional grass plots to fully serviced hardstanding, but it's the glamping accommodation that steals the show—lodges, cabins and even a treehouse, many boasting private hot tubs and well-equipped kitchenettes.
The atmosphere remains peacefully rural despite the range of options, and dogs receive an especially warm reception across much of the site. With spacious pitches, helpful owners and that rare combination of countryside calm and proper facilities, it's easy to see why guests return. Open year-round for those seeking a Lakeland base beyond the honeypot villages.

What visitors say
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lovely camping experience! We stayed on an electric tent pitch and had a fantastic time. The campsite was peaceful, calm, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless, which was really impressive. A special mention for the thoughtful extras — having a dishwasher and hand wash facilities available was a brilliant touch and not something every campsite provides. A small tip for future visitors: make sure you bring your groceries with you before arriving, as the nearest supermarkets are around 20–30 minutes away. Planning ahead will make your stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a well-maintained, peaceful campsite with excellent facilities. We would definitely recommend it!

Our whole stay was absolutely fabulous. The accommodation felt safe and welcoming, the community was beautiful, and the facilities were excellent. You can really tell how much care and attention has gone into every detail. The sunsets were absolutely breathtaking and made our stay even more special. One small suggestion for improvement would be to clean and defrost the fridge more regularly. During our stay, especially in the heatwave, it didn’t keep our food as cold as it should have, so improving its performance would make the experience even better. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back. The sunset alone is worth the visit, and we look forward to returning. Please note: we had our tents.

I think this is the nicest campsite I’ve ever stayed at. The facilities are exceptional, the thought and care put into the guest experience is wonderful and the staff are 100-% helpful, friendly and always-on. We also had a hot tub! The water is refreshed for each guest and the individual pitches are immaculately cared for. It’s quiet, spacious and the only reason for 4 stars for location is that you really need a car to get around, to the pub, local village etc and I have a van, which is a pain to move every time you want to go out for a drink or food. A wonderful stay - many thanks and we will be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We've just returned from our second stay at Wallace Lane Farm, which probably says everything you need to know because we very rarely visit the same place twice. This time we stayed on one of the hot tub pitches and it was fantastic. Having your own private hot tub, covered seating area, kitchen (with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster) and private bathroom makes for a really comfortable stay, whatever the weather decides to do. Speaking of weather, we had some truly awful rain during our visit, but it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves. The facilities meant we could still relax and make the most of our break, and ending each day in the hot tub was perfect. One thing that always stands out at Wallace Lane is how clean and well-maintained everything is. The site is immaculate and clearly very well cared for. The pitches are spacious, the facilities are excellent and the whole place has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The location is great too. We spent a day at Dalscone Farm and also stopped off in Keswick on the way, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. We've had a brilliant few days celebrating some special milestones and Wallace Lane was the perfect place to do it. It's rare for us to leave somewhere already talking about when we'll come back, but that's exactly what happened here. Highly recommended, whether you're camping, glamping or just looking for a relaxing getaway.
