About Clea Hall Farm
The lush Cumbrian countryside provides the backdrop for Clea Hall Farm, a blissfully remote spot on the northern fringes of Lake District National Park. Dog-loving couple Charlotte and Alex run a cosy shepherd's hut here – Herdie Hideaway – and welcome four-legged guests warmly. The hut is surprisingly well-equipped: a real bed with overhead lighting and power points, a kitchen with fridge-freezer, gas hob, microwave and kettle, plus an ensuite toilet and rain shower with heated towel rail. Bed linen, towels and a complimentary basket of tea, coffee and biscuits are all provided.
Step outside and you're surrounded by woodland, with spectacular views stretching to the Solway Firth. An alfresco seating area with firepit and barbecue invites lazy evenings under the stars. Charlotte and Alex often have local produce to sell, handy for a home-cooked meal. Wigton, ten minutes away, covers shopping and dining needs, while a couple of pubs sit within a five-minute drive. Bassenthwaite Lake is a twenty-minute journey for waterside walks and activities.

We've had a caravan on site for nearly 2 1/2 years, we absolutely love it, all the other owners are so friendly and Tony who runs the site is incredibly helpful with any problems we've had, nothing is too much trouble and he is helped by his lovely wife Clare, who also happens to make the best cocktails ever! All at a great price too! It's in a perfect spot to explore an area we didn't know very well until now. We always say that wherever we seem to want to go is always just half an hour away (or less) so it's perfect for getting to all sorts of places, Keswick, Bassenthwaite, Cockermouth, Penrith, Carlisle, the coast etc etc It's the perfect size of site too, big enough for there to be a fantastic NYE party but small enough to be quiet and feel peaceful and calm. Child friendly too with the great play area and all the events that they put on, the children have a great time, Easter, Bank holidays, Christmas and many, many, many other special weekends! So much hard work goes into it and it pays off. We love it!
