What visitors say
I started with a pay-as-you-go membership and attended an early morning spin class. The instructor, I believe her name was Leanne, was excellent—energetic, motivating, and made the class really enjoyable. Based on that experience, I decided to sign up for what I thought was a basic off-peak membership at £20 per month. However, I was immediately charged £21.32, which seemed a bit odd. Things became even more confusing when I discovered that booking off-peak classes still cost an additional £7 each, and using the gym also required a £7 fee per visit. When I asked reception for clarification, I was told that my membership only included unlimited access to the pool, which wasn’t something I was interested in. After saying I would probably cancel the membership, the reaction from the reception staff felt surprisingly unfriendly. The full-access membership is £31 per month, which is significantly more expensive than several nearby gyms offering similar facilities. The pricing structure was unclear, and the value for money just isn’t there for me. The reason this review gets two stars instead of one is because the spin instructor was genuinely fantastic and made a very positive first impression.

Very disappointing experience today at this swimming pool. We travelled more than 10 miles with our children and friends to visit, but the reception staff were extremely unwelcoming and rude from the moment we arrived. Our friends who were already inside had experienced the same behaviour before us as well. We fully understand that pools have safety policies, and both my wife and I were prepared to supervise our children responsibly. The issue was not the policy itself, but the way we were treated. The staff showed no empathy, no proper explanation, and no professionalism in their communication. The situation became very upsetting for our children. My eldest son was crying because his friends were already inside, and my daughter was also left upset outside. What should have been a nice family day turned into a very stressful and negative experience. I hope management reviews the behaviour and customer service approach of the reception staff so other families are treated with more respect and understanding in the future.

Wish I would have read reviews first before I took my daughter here. This is not a place for kids. All adults in lanes and being angry when kids are there. And I mean one toddler and one adult in the corner of pool so as not to get in the way. The staff were actually very nice and helpful, down the earth Glaswegians. But the “coach’s” were awful snatched my child’s toy out her hand because she thought it belonged to them and the kids they were teaching. Don’t know how they are working with kids when they have zero social skills and empathy for my own 2 year old. Won’t be back.

Joined through a scheme at work to use the pool and spa facilities only to discover on my first visit the spa facilities are permanently closed - i think they should have this on their homepage to make people aware. Now stuck paying membership until October that I'll never use. Can't believe the councils short sightedness regarding these facilities. The health benefits they offer ultimately saves health and social services money.
