What guests say
Afternoon tea from a red letter day xmas gift. Booking was easy on the phone. Grounds as you drive up excellent and fill you with anticipation.....how wrong I was. Service poor from start. Tea was like dishwater and undrinkable. Coffee was also undrinkable. Sparkling procecco was very sweet and obviously cheap. 4 finger sandwiches per person made of of ham, smoked salmon, egg mayo and avocado and tomato. 6 cakes per person including 2 each scones with jam and cream. Cakes were premade and bought in. Sandwiches were OK but not really wonderful and too few whilst cakes were far too many. Crockery was all mismatched and no one bothered to ask if everything was OK. Poor poor poor. Absolutely do not spend your money.

We booked this hotel as a family of three (including our 3-year-old) after a gruelling 9-hour drive, and it was hands-down the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. The Room & Cleanliness: The room was swelteringly hot with no air conditioning. The single fan provided did absolutely nothing, making sleep impossible. To make matters worse, the room was full of flies. While staff did come up to use a bug spray, it was completely ineffective, and they were all back within an hour. Accessibility & Staff: There is no lift at this property (if there was we couldn’t find it nor were offered use of it). We had to haul a travel cot, suitcases, rucksacks, and a tired toddler up three flights of stairs. Not a single member of staff offered to help us. The Service & Bar: We tried to have dinner in the bar, but the service was shocking. The staff were slow and entirely uninterested. When I asked a waitress if we could sit at a window table that was piled with dirty dishes, she simply replied, "Sit anywhere, I don't mind," and walked off. She didn't clear the table or even wipe the sauce off it. Because my toddler was exhausted and starving, I ended up clearing and cleaning the table myself. The Noise & Communication: We were never informed at booking or check-in that a wedding was taking place. The wedding party went on until 4:00 AM, right along with loud music blasting from the bar directly below our room. There were even incredibly loud fireworks at 11:00 PM. The hotel has no room phones; instead, they expect you to message reception via a WhatsApp group. Unsurprisingly, our 4:00 AM messages complaining about the noise went completely ignored. In total, I got one hour of sleep. It was a massive, expensive mistake. We had a return stay booked for next week which we have promptly cancelled. What kind of hotel expects paying guests to endure a loud wedding until 4:00 AM? Never again.

We paid £110 a night for two of us including breakfast. This was fantastic value. A lovely old building with beautiful ornate plaster ceilings. Wonderful views of the golf course. A pool and gym. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely. If we could get rooms at this price again we would definitely return.

Needed to attend a funeral in the area and booked into Broome Hotel for an overnight stay. The building and grounds are beautiful. Spacious feeling inside. Patient kind and helpful staff. Thanks to Dom on the front desk. Rooms were luxury. Had evening meal and breakfast - both very good.
