The Stable
Canterbury
The Stable occupies the upper floor of a Grade II listed coach house built in 1770, its bedrooms tucked into what was once the hayloft. The ground floor holds a sitting room with wood burner and a fully fitted kitchen overlooking the courtyard; upstairs, a kingsize bed and two singles are split across the two bedrooms, with a bathroom offering both bath and shower. A second shower room downstairs makes four guests comfortable without queuing. Underfloor heating on the ground floor, oil central heating throughout, and reliable broadband mean the period charm doesn't come at the cost of modern comfort.
The property sits within parkland dotted with mature trees, sheep and an equestrian cross-country course—a setting that invites walks onto the North Downs Way and Pilgrims Way. Canterbury is a 7-mile drive away; beaches including Whitstable and Sandwich Bay lie within 12 miles, and Deal coastal town is 17 miles off. A bus stop a 15-minute walk through the grounds serves regular routes to Canterbury and Folkestone. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the wood burner are provided to get you started. There is parking for two cars on site. No smoking inside the property.
