About Park Plaza Cardiff
Park Plaza Cardiff is a substantial modern hotel of 129 rooms set on Greyfriars Road, right in the centre of the city. Its scale means guests get a proper range of facilities rather than the bare minimum, and the building has been designed with air conditioning, a lift, and family and accessible rooms alongside the standard doubles.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks, and are generally spacious and well kept. Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar serving food that's a genuine highlight, plus breakfast service, a gym, and a spa area with an indoor pool, hot tub and steam room, giving the hotel more of a leisure-break feel than a standard city stopover. Concierge services and luggage storage are on hand for those combining business with sightseeing, and the hotel also hosts weddings.
The central Cardiff location puts guests within easy reach of pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, with golf and fishing also available in the wider area for those wanting to get outdoors. Service is generally efficient, though a few guests have found staff less helpful than expected, which is worth bearing in mind. On the whole, this is a well-equipped base for a city stay with more facilities than most Cardiff hotels of similar size.
What guests say
Our second stay at Park Plaza Cardiff in the last few years, and once again it was absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be back! The hotel has great facilities including a well-equipped gym, swimming pool, and sauna, which made our stay even more relaxing. Everything throughout the hotel was spotless, and every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and professional. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and great quality. A special mention has to go to Omar, who truly elevated our stay. His warm welcome and attentive service felt incredibly personal while remaining professional at all times. He went above and beyond to make us feel valued and comfortable, and it really made a difference to our experience. 5 stars to Omar and the whole team. Highly recommended!

Bedroom is lovely and comfortable, only criticism, I wish there is a safety hand rail to aid climbing into the bath and standing for a shower. Booked afternoon tea for 3.30 when i checked in at3.30, giving an hour notice. Was asked of dietary requirements and room no. I arrived 5mins early, i was seated on time. Asked again about dietary requirements. it arrived 20mins late. When i left I was asked how i was paying !! Im a bit concerned the lack of communication between staff. Afternoon tea was acceptable, im glad I dont take milk as none came either the tea. I think 2 or 3 better quality pastries would be more presentable than 5 miniatures. Sandwiches were very good, plenty of salmon. UPDATE, besides my bathroom concerns the bedroom AC was the best I've ever had on a hotel. Breakfast service and recommended omelette was excellent. Very good end to a rather dodgy start to my sray.

After returning to this hotel I have to say a massive thanks for the reservations team who gave me a complimentary upgrade - it was so needed after a long drive ! Reception staff were so lovely when I arrived on evening of 02/07 - your customer service shone! I was so happy to see the lovely Omar at breakfast reception the next day -just as hospitable as he’d been the month previously - your an asset to this hotel! Saturday morning breakfast was not the same without you , though I have no complaints in staff, but your hospitality shines ! I booked the conference room and send a massive thanks to the conference staff, super friendly and helpful ,lunch was perfect . Lastly a massive thanks to Leah at the Laguna Spa- after a busy week, winding down at the spa on Friday to your friendly and super attentive service and great massage ended my week perfectly . I will surely be back - you all do this hotel very proud !

We found this hotel on Expedia and liked its location and services. Shortly after our arrival, we had high tea in their Laguna restaurant. It was excellent. Wonderful selection of teas and coffees and the food was generous and delicious. Best scone we had on outlet trip. Service was also friendly and efficient. The hotel is nice but will need a facelift in a couple of years as things are looking a bit tattered. Beds were too firm for my liking but room was well equipped with a safe, fridge, tv and plenty of closet space. Could have used more towels as only one hand towel was provided as well as some hair conditioner. The pump bottles on the various soaps were in bad shape and need replacing as you had to lift the pump head every time you pushed down. The room was clean but there were areas in the bathroom that could use some extra cleaning. I noticed this when I did my own routine cleaning upon first arriving. The bones are there but just need some refinements.
