The setting at Fforest Farm is undeniably beautiful. The cabins are thoughtfully designed and tastefully decorated, and we stayed in an Onsen dome with a hot tub, which was genuinely wonderful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. After a six-hour drive from London, we arrived to find there were no food options on site at all, despite the website referencing a restaurant and a pub. While we understand it may be closed, having no alternative offering was unacceptable. On a Monday, when most places in a nearby town Cardigan are also shut, this left us with no choice but to drive out to a supermarket, wasting our first evening. For a stay marketed as a relaxing, nature-centered escape, this completely undermined the experience. Even basic provisions/shop on site would have made a significant difference. Communication and service were consistently poor. We received little to no guidance on arrival regarding where to find any food. We were given a phone number to contact staff, but it was impossible to reach anyone. Calls would not go through, and messages sent to the number were ignored. We were told there were service issues, yet we had good signal throughout our stay, so this explanation didn’t hold up. At this price point (around £540 per two nights), there should have been a reliable alternative way to contact staff. Not being able to reach anyone, especially when we had issues in the cabin, was extremely frustrating. We experienced a persistent loud mechanical noise in the cabin that took over three hours to resolve. While we were offered a complimentary sauna session, it felt like a token gesture given how much of our time was disrupted by the noise. Basic hospitality standards were lacking throughout. Staff rarely acknowledged guests, and there was no sense of welcome or attentiveness. Additionally, guests are expected to clean the accommodation and dispose of their rubbish before departure, despite the high cost, and there wasn’t even a proper bin provided in the kitchen. There were also clear inconsistencies in how rules were applied. Although signage states dogs must be kept on leads, two dogs, belonging to the owner, were allowed to roam freely. This caused visible discomfort for other guests, including a family with a baby and their own leashed dog, yet no action was taken. This inconsistency reflects poor management of senior staff and a disregard for guest comfort. Finally, there is a missed opportunity to showcase local produce and enhance the overall experience. Breakfast lacked any clear connection to local suppliers, and there was no information provided about the area, recommendations, or partnerships with nearby businesses. For a location with so much potential, this felt like a significant oversight. Overall, while the setting and aesthetics are undeniably beautiful, the lack of service, communication, and basic hospitality makes this stay far from worth the price. We would not recommend it as it is now.

We were lucky enough to get married at Fforest Farm over the May Bank Holiday weekend, celebrating with our closest family and friends, and we honestly couldn't have imagined a more perfect venue or wedding weekend. From the moment we arrived, we were able to completely switch off and immerse ourselves in the wedding love bubble. There is something truly special about Fforest – you can genuinely feel the love, care and attention that goes into every detail, creating a magical atmosphere that stays with you long after the weekend ends. A huge thank you to Leanne, who was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Her organisation, support and calm presence made the whole process feel effortless. Kelly was also so helpful with coordinating accommodation for our guests, ensuring everything ran smoothly before we even arrived. Throughout the weekend, the entire team went above and beyond. The duty managers, Jenny, Jo and Beth, were exceptional and always on hand to help with anything we needed. Luke on the bar deserves a special mention too – his energy, warmth and incredible service throughout the evening did not go unnoticed by us or our guests. A final thank you to all of the Fforest staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, you made our wedding seamless and beautifully perfect. The food was outstanding from Friday night's supper right through to Sunday morning brunch, not forgetting Saturdays incredibly delicious food & drinks throughout the day. Every dietary requirement was catered for seamlessly, and so many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever experienced. The quality, presentation and seasonal variety were exceptional throughout the entire weekend, you could taste that it was cooked with love and care for the ingredients and the guests. The accommodation was beautiful, the setting breathtaking, and the thoughtful decorations and special touches around the site made everything feel unique and personal. Fforest somehow manages to create an environment that feels both relaxed, uniquely yours and incredibly special at the same time. Our guests are still talking about the weekend weeks later, and we will treasure those memories forever. If you're looking for a wedding venue that delivers not only a stunning setting but an unforgettable experience filled with warmth, care and genuine hospitality, Fforest Farm is simply outstanding. Thank you to everyone at Fforest for making our wedding weekend more magical than we could ever have dreamed. It was simply perfection. We cannot wait to visit you for years to come. We first went to Fforest in 2007, when they only had tipis, domes and also offered pitches for people to bring their own tents. A couple years later, we came back, the tipis were gone and replaced by bell tents, some signs of expansion and growth were showing. We loved the place, so serene and so well made. In 2018, we returned as a family of 4, our first school summer holiday, and by then, the place had grown significantly with many more options of accommodation. Then, we opted for a crog loft, as it offered separate bedroom spaces for parents and kids, along with many other comforts. We stayed for a week and despite the hefty cost, all was fine, aside from the continental breakfast (included in the cost of the accommodation) which got a bit boring. Fast forward 7 years, we came back for 4 nights over October half term, and the place looked almost exactly the same, very well maintained! The events tipi and dining barn were the only new additions we noticed. Interestingly, the breakfast hadn't changed. High quality sourdough bread, granolas, other spreads and along with the soft boiled eggs that by the time you get to them, they are already hard. After spotting a couple catering trucks, we were no longer sure if all the wholesome looking breakfast ingredients are as homemade as they once were. A tiny bit of variety would be so welcome, maybe swap some elements every other day? The staff put up a couple organised activities for children, which was a nice addition. The on-site pub was opened everynight, which was great as it's such a nice and cosy space with a gorgeous fire! Sadly, drinks are at London prices! Overall, we still love the place. It's not cheap, but it's beautiful, relaxing and great for connecting with nature! You can even walk to Cardigan in less than an hour! We'll probably be back a fifth time - we shall see!

Fforest Farm is such a cool venue! Every celebration here has this amazing, laid-back vibe that’s perfect for live music. Our bands always have the best time performing, the setting is beautiful, the team are wonderful, and the atmosphere is unbeatable. Oh, and the pizzas… absolutely the best ever! We can’t wait to be back for more unforgettable nights at this truly unique Welsh venue.
