Our visit from start to finish was very good, the venue has a Nightclub in the rear which we were made aware of immediately, as it was open the night of our station. The music was was liveable, the patrons were young & boisterous but we were prepared. We had two dogs with us & the room was perfect for us & them.

Booked it without realising that the policy is to check in by 9pm. Called them immediately to ask for cancellation as I was on the road and couldn't get there by 9. Honest mistake and easy to fix, right ? Not for them. They simply refused and charged for the night. They offered a hotel in a middle of nowhere instead. Booking.com confirmed that this is hotel's total lack of flexibility and goodwill.

Avoid for family trips – strictly transactional and zero warmth. If you value a welcoming, hospitable atmosphere, stay elsewhere. This establishment is run with a purely transactional mindset. I made an honest mistake regarding their 9 PM check-in and contacted them immediately to fix it, but they showed zero empathy. Instead of being helpful and allowing me to cancel the bookign I have just made, they chose to keep our money and offered a different location in the middle of nowhere. It is clear that profit comes before people here. A very cold experience that is not at all suited for families looking for a stress-free stay.

ALERT! Not sure what happened to this hotel recently. It used to be nice but it's like they are desperate for every pound.. They are misleading and add unexpected charges to just bill your card. AVOID!
