About Cwm Ty Coed

Tucked into 30 acres of meadow and mature woodland near Carmarthen, Cwm Ty Coed wraps campers in a delightfully low-key rural scene. The communal log cabin – warmed by a woodburning stove and stocked with sofas and games – serves as the social hub, while outside a zipwire through the trees and a clutch of resident donkeys (including Lily and Misty) keep younger guests thoroughly entertained. Firepits dot the grounds for evening cook-outs, and there's a pizza oven and kitchen shelter with cast-iron rings for communal meals.

Facilities lean rustic rather than resort-style: expect well-kept compost loos and gas showers. It suits families after space to roam and visitors who value woodland trails over manicured pitches. Carmarthen's markets and cafés lie four miles south, while the coast – with kayaking, seal-spotting and sailing – waits half an hour west. Dogs are welcome year-round, making this an easy choice for a rural retreat that doesn't skimp on the fresh air.

My wife and I spent two nights here celebrating our wedding with our close family. All of our guests, some of whom had never camped before, had an amazing time. The site is very private with it's own woodlands, allowing guests to explore and find the swings, zip line and cosy cabin. From the full size proper beds to the piping hot showers, the mountains of firewood provided by Jon and the amazing new pizza oven, we couldn't have asked for more.

Great glamping in lovely quiet spot. Facilities as good or better than other glamping sites I've been to. Each tent has a well equipped kitchen just outside with plenty of stuff for cooking. This year a new wood fired pizza oven too. Only disadvantage is there are no footpaths to allow walks from the site.

I couldn't recommend Cwm ty Coed enough. What an absolutely beautiful tranquil site with the luxury of you're very own gorgeously designed outdoor UNDERCOVER kitchen with table and chairs and your own personal water supply with washstand. Not only that, the pitches are spaced out genourosly on the edge of a pitchuresque woodland with chickens, donkeys, horse, sheep and not to mention Ben & Jess the the super friendly sheepdogs to name a few. The owners have gone above and beyond to make your stay memorable - campfires, starry skies, magical woodland walks with swings and a zipwire in the trees, cute little essentials shop, outdoor cinema, communal cabin with games, sofas, WiFi, woodburner and fridge... the use of a pizzaoven!!! The children loved it just us much as us. We will definitely be returning in the spring. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

We loved it! Great place to stay. They've thought of everything. John helped us out with every little thing from a slightly smokey log burner, to recommendations of local beaches and restaurants.
