About The Shearers' Retreat
Escape to this serene working sheep farm in a Carmarthenshire valley west of the Brecon Beacons, where the tree-lined Afon Dulas river flows through fields roamed by buzzards and resident red kites Kath and Kenny. The water-view shepherd's hut comes fully equipped with made-up double bed, ensuite shower, marine flush toilet and all essentials, making this a genuine retreat from routine—though you're never far from civilisation when you need it.
The charming town of Llandeilo lies just a few miles away, with its Friday farmers' market, independent delis and award-winning food suppliers, while the local pub (highly recommended for meals) is even closer. The National Botanic Garden of Wales sits near enough that you can spot its dome from the farm itself, and castles, gold mines and National Trust properties pepper the wider area. A tiny, peaceful spot that manages to feel genuinely remote whilst keeping Welsh highlights within easy reach.

Absolutely amazing last minute stay at The Shearers Retreat! Absolutely beautiful location & the weather came through for us! Lovely idea of the outdoor bath which we really enjoyed! Although it was self catering, the small things were definitely thought of which made it extra special. Super comfy bed & nights sleep! Beautifully clean and cosy! We will definitely be returning! Highly highly recommended! ☺️

We love this place! Been here twice and will deffo be back in the summer. The hosts go above and beyond before you making sure your stay is the best they can offer! We love the location and always made to feel welcome. This little hut has everything you need for a relaxing couple of days offering the best views and beautiful stary nights in the evening.its perfect if you want a taste of fresh air and to be free we can't wait to stay again! The area has plenty to do offering from castles to beach's and mountains Wales is our happy place esp here ❤️

Me and my partner have just returned from a one night stay at the Shearer's Hut and it did not disappoint, the location was perfect for us as we wanted a off the grid experience and that’s exactly what we got, it is completely private and nestled in the most beautiful scenery. The hut is very cosy, equipped with everything that we needed, the bed was so comfortable placed perfectly to wake up to the amazing view outside. We also had a bbq and made use of the fire pit which allowed us to stay outside late into the night. I would definitely recommend a stay in the hut and will definitely be returning! Thank you Louisa and Kerry for a fabulous stay! :)

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at the Musterers Hut. The location is ideal for privacy and scenic views. We enjoyed the firepit and stargazing at night. The hut is very well designed and feels very cosy and romantic. The host was nice and helpful. We would be staying again.
