The Old Boot Room

Carmarthenshire

View on Google Maps

The Old Boot Room sits on a working smallholding near Carmarthen, converted from its original purpose as a boot room into holiday accommodation. You arrive at your own entrance into a front courtyard, with the owners' farmhouse separate from yours. The building's age shows in its uneven floors—part of its character rather than a fault to fix.

Everything you need sits on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with Freeview Smart TV, a kitchenette with breakfast bar and electric hob for cooking, one bedroom with a double bed, and a shower room. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. There is parking for one car on site and a front garden. If you're bringing a dog, it stays free, though it must be kept on a lead given the farm animals around you and the sheep country beyond.

The location works well for walking straight from the door into countryside, or driving to attractions within half an hour: Dinefwr Castle, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Brechfa Forest's bike trails, or Llandeilo's shops and cafés. Carmarthen town itself has markets, a cinema and bowling. The nearest pub is in the quiet village of Llanfynydd, a short distance away. No smoking inside the property.
