This campsite is haunted by a ghost called Harry. Known as digger Harry. It's a well known story. He used to live with his wife in a cottage in Bears wood. When she passed away from old age, he buried her in the grounds. The police arrested him because they thought he was guilty of murdering her and he went to jail. He was released and went back to Bears wood, but he could never remember the spot that he'd buried his wife. He eventually passed away too. A while later some scouts who were camping in Bears wood saw his ghost digging for his wife, hence the name digger Harry. I've known this story since I was a child. I've camped in these woods myself, and I heard weird noises and digging sounds at night. I couldn't wait to leave. I've never been back since, and never would.

Great camp site for Scout meetings. Its protected under a nice canopy of tree's. There is a lovely firepit in the middle 👍👌😊

Me and my daughter had an absolutely fantastic time at the Family camp. Despite the rain and us both being addicted to home comforts, it was amazing to be outside doing so many wonderful activities....even in the rain! The staff are kind, cheerful and passionate. The food was great, and the sense of community was even better!! A perfect hidden little gem 💎
