Brynllin Holiday Cottages - Penceunant

Ceredigion

This converted stone cottage sits on a working sheep farm in the Ceredigion hills, a setting that gives the place genuine quiet rather than the marketed kind. Built from the ground up as a holiday let, it has two bedrooms—both kingsize, both with their own shower rooms—spread across two floors, sleeping four comfortably. One dog is welcome at no extra cost. You arrive after 4pm and have until 10am to leave.

The ground floor holds a bedroom and shower room; upstairs, an open-plan kitchen and dining space flows into a sitting room, with a second bedroom and bathroom completing the layout. The kitchen is properly equipped—electric oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave—for cooking real meals rather than heating tins. Patio doors from the living room lead out to a first-floor terrace with views across the farmland; below it sits a private hot tub for four. The essentials are covered: electricity, heating, wifi, bed linen and towels are all included, and there's parking for two cars on site.

Penceunant works for couples or small families wanting a genuine break from routine rather than a seaside resort week. A footpath and bridleway loop for roughly two miles around the property if you want to walk. The coast—with beaches, coves and rock formations—lies within easy reach, and the market town of Aberaeron is under ten miles away. The owners will even take delivery of your supermarket shopping on arrival day and have it unpacked and ready for you.

What a lovely cottage with all the mod cons. The hosts are the best, nothing is too much trouble for the, they are friendly and very approachable. They loved both of our dogs, Ruby and Sid. Monty was a right character ducking and diving, Cecil is something else as well, their 'pet' kite who visits for a feed a few times as day and of course Jack. The cottage is well equipped with all that is needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, we will definitely be going back .

A good place to relax in peace and quiet. The house is very clean and has everything you need, it's dog-friendly 🐕, the owner is very helpful. We spent Christmas there, and there's a hot tub.
