About Pentref Luxury Camping
Tucked into the hills just outside Tregaron, Pentref Luxury Camping is a tiny, off-grid retreat where a handful of bell tents nestle among forest and moorland. With composting loos, renewable energy and a firm eco ethos, it's proper wild camping — albeit with a few creature comforts like hot showers and a barbecue kit. The setting is spectacular: red kites wheel overhead, streams run through the grounds, and footpaths fan out in every direction, making it a heaven for walkers and wildlife watchers.
You're remote here, so don't expect a shop on site, but Tregaron village is nearby for supplies, and the location puts you within reach of canoeing, mountain biking and climbing in the Cambrian Mountains. It can feel genuinely isolated at night, which is either a selling point or something to consider if you prefer more buzz. Either way, if you're after peace, stars and a lighter footprint, this little site delivers.

We had another really special holiday staying at Pentref 💚 The Yurt and the Shepherds Hut are so beautiful and cosy. Waking up and coming outside to the peaceful surroundings and enjoying a slow morning and cup of tea is so relaxing. Our border collie Derw had the best time exploring and splashing in the stream and it means so much to us that Julia makes sure dogs are very welcome which makes it all the more relaxing for us! 🐾 Thank you again, for a wonderful stay. We miss Pentref already and can't wait to come back! 🥰

Pentref is the perfect location for a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings or a base for exploring the beautiful West Wales countryside and coastline! Taylor the ‘Burt’ was spacious, cosy and had everything we needed including a comfy bed, a cosy log burner and a well-equipped outdoor cooking area. This was our 3rd visit, having stayed in the Shepherd’s Hut and the Yurt and we rarely visit anywhere more than once. Very dog friendly, great hosts. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!!

What a fabulous place! This was our 2nd visit to Pentref having stayed in the Shepherd's Hut last summer. We had an amazing weekend staying in the Yurt this time with our dog Boris, in February. The Yurt is so cosy and had everything we needed and more! The location is beautiful. The facilities are perfectly clean. We had a lovely welcome from Julia who was so friendly, always available if we needed anything and a huge dog lover!! We would definitely recommend Pentref and would love to come back!

Me, my partner and our dog stayed in the ‘Shire’ Shepard’s hut and it was absolutely amazing, I really can’t fault it at all. Attention to detail with the wood and beams in the hut is absolutely amazing. Absolutely lovely site with beautiful surroundings, peaceful and tranquil. Our dog absolutely loved it. The hosts are absolutely lush, very welcoming. Julia went above and beyond for us. What a lovely woman. Would 100% recommend Pentref to everyone - 10/10! We are definitely going to be returning. Look forward to seeing you again :)
